Prologue by Carter
Today was the day she set out on her own. Just to get away from the stressful life that she once had out in New York City. She was set out to be a writer you know…but her would come crashing down. The love that she once had just suddenly fell apart for no apparent reason. And that’s when it hit her…she needed to find herself be who she was when she was a little girl. But little did she know she was in for the ride of her life.
Chapter One ::I'm Moving On :: by Carter
::: I’m moving on// At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me// And I know there’s no guarantee’s but I’m not alone// There came a time in everyone’s life// When all you can see are the years passing by// And I've made up my mind// That those days are gone :::

“Stan I…I can’t do this anymore…this is a stressful environment I cannot handle this anymore,” Jordan Kelly said to her boss who stood there before her.

“What do you mean stressful environment?” he questioned.

“Too many things going on Stan…too many things that I cannot deal with at the moment, I'm sorry Stan,” Jordan apologized.

“Where am I supposed to find another writer as good as you?”

“Beats me…all I know is I probably will not be coming back” Jordan responded as gathered up the last of her things and carried them out to the car. She had been working there for almost two years now. Being a journalist was something she had always wanted to be, but she just couldn’t do it. Her heart isn’t in all the right places anymore. Moving on was her only choice. Jordan drove back home to her now lonely studio apartment that she once shared with her fiancé Alan. She never thought he would ever leave her they were so in love or so she thought. Jordan would always wish he would walk through the door and come and take her away. But she eventually gave up. As Jordan packed the rest of whatever needed to be packed she came across all the old pictures and love letters Alan had written to her. There were so many memories that they had shared, but they are all in the past now. She never understood what went wrong their relationship seemed to be just fine, but everything seems to have its flaw.

Jordan finished packing her belongings and soon started to pack them into her newly purchased Chevrolet Cavalier Jordan walked into her land lord’s office.

“Why hello Ms. Kelly what can I do for you?”

“Here are the keys to the studio…I am moving…don’t know where, but I am. There is just nothing here for me any longer,” Jordan said as she handed her the keys.

“Awe, that’s too bad Ms. Kelly…you were such a good attendant here. I hope you find what you are looking for in life. It’s a long and dark road, but you will know once you have found the right place to be in. You will finally feel comfortable with yourself.”

“Thanks Vinnie…I’ll miss you very much” she gave her a hug.

“Now get outta here kiddo…you don’t want to get caught in the midday traffic”

“Bye Vinnie,” She waved walking out the office. Jordan hopped into her car and drove off. As she drove she heard a song, or a part of a song that reminded her of what she was doing.

I’ve lived in this place// And I know all the faces// Each one is different but they’re always the same// The mean me no harm but it’s time that I face it// They’ll never allow me to chance// But I never dreamed home would end up there I don’t belong// I’m moving on

Jordan sat there and watched her eyes fill up with tears. She couldn’t believe that this was really happening she was moving on. Jordan went to a local gas station on her way out of town. She finally left the place she once knew as her home. As the part of the song played over and over in her head she was finally now out on the open road heading toward the south…and the path of moving on was finally becoming a reality.

Chapter Two :: Break Down Here :: by Carter
::: I’d sure hate to break down here// Nothing up ahead or in the rear view mirror// Out in the middle of nowhere knowin// I’m in trouble of these wheels stop rollin// God help me keep me moving somehow// Don’t let me start wishing I was with him now// I’ve made it this far without crying a single tear// I’d sure hate to break down here :::

Jordan was half way down the freeway by noon. Out on the open road she was. Jordan was scared of moving on at first but she is now enjoying the freedom of the road. Being out on her own meant finding her independence, not being as dependent on Alan as she was. It was time for her to be her own boss and not listen to what other people say, or do this was her time to shine. Jordan was now in Kentucky heading southbound towards Tennessee. As she listened to a local radio station her favorite song came on and that’s when reality hit her…

She needs wide open spaces// Room to make her big mistakes// She needs new faces// She knows the highest stakes// She traveled this road as a child// Wide eyed and grinning she never tired// But now she won’t be coming back with the rest// If these are life’s lessons// She’ll take this test

Jordan sang in her car. As Jordan looked in her rearview mirror there wasn’t anyone there not a single car, bus, truck, there was nothing.

“Man I would hate to get stuck out here…no one would be able to help me,” she said to herself. Jordan started to think without even knowing it. She started to think about her situation she was in…all the things she had accomplished over the years working for the magazine. She had numerous awards for her outstanding articles. Jordan was indeed proud of them too. But there was always something deep down inside of her that told her this wasn’t the right job for her. But she had always seemed to ignore it until now. Something told her to go for her dreams. This time no one could tell her no, she was her own boss and that’s the way it was going to be from now on. Her and Alan were the perfect couple they had everything in common. They liked the same movies, music and even books anything you named they both probably liked it. But once Jordan had landed what she called her ‘dream job’ it all kind of came crashing down. Alan started to get distant and not talk to Jordan about their problems. He would just keep them locked up to the point where they wouldn’t talk anymore. And that’s when it started- the cheating. Jordan of course was devastated when she found out. She couldn’t trust him who could blame her right? And sure enough their whole relationship had fallen apart. They tried many times to rekindle what they had, but before long it would just end up falling to pieces all over again. And that’s when it all ended all the love they had for so many years, three years to be exact, just went down the drain. But Jordan never fully recovered she promised herself to never trust a guy ever again. Even though she has had dates here and there but no one she had ever really been interested in. They all were the same to her.

As Jordan got further and further down the lonely highway she realized her car was starting to act up something just wasn’t right. She pulled over and just to her luck she had a flat tire and the worst part- she didn’t have a spare.

“Why is this happening to me? Is this some sort of sign?” she asked herself. And then is must have been a miracle cause someone was coming down the road,” Thank God” It was a beat up old Ford truck. She flagged the truck down. As the truck pulled over she ran over to it and saw the most beautiful blue eyes she had ever seen.

“Hi thank you for stopping…I have flat and I don’t have a spare,” she looked more closely at the stranger before her taking in all the facial features, and not to mention the muscles hiding under the tight white t-shirt he was wearing.

“It’s okay miss I live about 30 miles from here in a little town called Wineme it’s the nearest town from here,” she loved the accent too…so refreshing from what she had been used to in New York.

“Thank you so much sir…I appreciate it”

“You can call me Brian…and what might your name be?”

“Jordan…Jordan Kelly,” he smiled as Jordan got into the car. Normally she wouldn’t do this, but at this point it was her only option.

“So what are you doing out here on this lonely highway?”

“Oh just looking for my dreams I guess you can call it,”

“Where did you live?”

“New York City…I was a journalist for a teen magazine there. But that’s not what my heart wanted me to do. So I packed my bags and to head south in the search of something new,” she explained.

“I admire you for that Jordan,”

“Thank you” They were now traveling on the open road together once they reached Wineme Jordan never realized how small this town really was.

“It’s a lot different from where I come from,”

“I am sure…you are used to the big city life like New York City, but here it’s peaceful and clam…and plus I have never really been fond of big cities anyway.”

“Well New York is a lovely city you should go there sometime,” Jordan smiled he just smiled back. They finally pulled up to a small gray house with lots of chickens running around. It was quiet something different from what she was used to that’s for sure.

“Well this is my home”

“It’s so quiet but it’s nice for once,” Jordan said as she got out of the truck

“Very quiet and peaceful, but you’ll get used to it after a while,”

The night started to come and so did the fog. Brian came in with a cup of warm milk.

“Here…I thought I would bring you this. It will help you sleep tonight.” He handed her the cup.

“Thank you Brian I haven’t had warm milk since I was a little girl”

“Your are welcome…well I am going to hit the sack I have a big day tomorrow. So I will see you in the morning. Good night Jordan,”

“Thanks again Brian and good night to you too,” Jordan watched Brian disappear down the hall. Jordan was really starting to like it out here. It was a different lifestyle but also something she could very well get used to. She liked the fact it was so quiet and peaceful there were no car horns, no rude people just the quietness of the small town. She knew this was the place she was going to love. This could be the start of a new beginning.

Chapter Three :: Mud On The Tires :: by Carter
::: It’s a good night // To be out there soaking up the moonlight// Steak out a little piece of shoreline// I’ve got the perfect place in mind// It’s in the middle of nowhere// Only one way to get there// You gotta get a little mud on the tires :::

Jordan woke up around 10am wearing one of Brian’s Kentucky Wildcats shirts and sweat pants since she had forgotten her clothes in her car. She started looking around the house for but there was no sign of him. Jordan quickly walked into the kitchen and got something to drink. While drinking over the sink she spotted Brian pulling up into the driveway in a brand new 2005 black Chevrolet Silverado. Jordan walked out onto the porch in amazement. He had this beat up 1950 Ford truck yesterday and then he comes home with a brand new one. Brian honked the horn just before stepping out of the truck.

“You like? You inspired me to get a new truck Miss. Kelly”

“How did I inspire you to get a new truck Brian?”

“I don’t know, but when I figure it out I’ll tell ya” he laughed.

“Ah…so how far did you have to drive to pick up this baby?”

“Like 50 miles…the next town or should I say ‘city’ is Lexington….oh by the way I talked to one of my buddies well he’s actually my cousin Kevin. He said he’ll fix your car we just have to get a tow truck to go and get it” Brian said.

“Great! But can we do it soon? I kind of need some clothes. I feel kind of silly standing here wearing some strangers clothes”

“Sure um how about we go now. Just hop on in the truck and we’ll stop by and have my cousin go and get your car. Sound good?” Jordan nodded her head,” Great!”

-----------

Jordan and Brian got her car to his cousin’s auto shop in town. It was only going to cost her about $50 for a new tire which isn’t bad considering it would have been about $100 in New York.

When they got back to the house she headed straight for a nice warm shower.

“Being stuck out here isn’t such a bad thing, hell I’d take this place over New York City any day. I cannot believe I didn’t do this sooner.” She thought to herself. She realizes she had finally found something that she can be good for her. And good was always a good thing in her book. Now only if she could find her passion. She doesn't know what it is exactly but she’ll know when she finds it. When Jordan walked out of the bathroom and found Brian waiting there for her.

“Yes…you want to get a peak? You pervert!” she joked

“No, no…I just wondered if you wanted to go ‘camping’ tonight. I was listening to the weather report for tonight and it’s supposed to be a clear night. That’s if you want to. I just thought since I got my new truck we could sleep in the cab,” Jordan kind of gave him the ‘you’re kidding me’ look,” I am guessing you really haven’t been camping have you,” she shook her head no,” Well you know what? You officially do not have a choice you are going to come with me all it takes is a little mud on the tires and plus it’s by a lake…come on you have to say yes.” Brian begged. Jordan stood there with her arms crossed.

“Fine, I’ll go only because it’s by a lake and I have never been to Kentucky. You are a very lucky man. I refused to go with my family when they went hunting in the fall.”

“I will consider myself lucky then, I will go and load up the truck and stuff while I guess you pack. We’ll leave in an hour”

“Yes sir,” she saluted Brian as they walked in the opposite directions.

-------------------

Just as Brian said they left in an hour on the dot.

“How long does it take to get there anyway?” Jordan asked.

“About an hour why?”

“I thought maybe we could play a little car game?”

“What kind of car game are we talking about?”

“20 questions”

“Serious? That game can be so annoying”

“Hey we’re practically strangers. I thought this would be the best way to get to know each other”

“Good point okay fine since you are the one who wanted to go this game in the first place you get to start it”

“Okay question one…have you ever been married?”

“Unfortunately, yes I have…it just was one of those it wasn’t meant to be things…and luckily we didn’t have any kids. Have you ever been married?”

“No, but close though. Alan and I were together for three years and then I got that job at the magazine and our whole relationship just started to fall apart. Then Alan started cheating and then it ended up being a total disaster. So I ended it.” Jordan explained.

“Wow if I had ever cheated on someone I think I would have to shoot myself” he chuckled,” I wouldn’t exactly shoot myself but you get the picture” Jordan sat there almost in awe. Someone who actually wouldn’t cheat? It is just too good to be true.

“Are you serious? You would never do anything like that? It’s just too good to be true. I don’t know any guy like that. Not even my best friends back in New York are like that”

“Well then you are looking at a totally different guy” Jordan smiled. But the real question is, is could she believe this total stranger?

“You know Brian I think this could be the start of a great friendship” she smiled.

“You know what? I think so too Jordan,” Jordan and Brian both knew that this friendship was something good for the both of them, something that was going to last them a lifetime.

Chapter Four :: After You :: by Carter
::: Cause I’m not one bit closer to being over you// It’s almost like the hands of time haven’t moved// Cause everywhere I look I see your memory// Hanging round// They ought to name this town after you:::

Back in New York Alan drove to Jordan’s apartment to apologize. Once he had reached her apartment he knocked on the door. Then door opened to a tall dark haired man.

“Is Jordan here?” he asked.

“There is no one by that name that lives here I’m sorry sir,” and then closed the door.

“Jordan doesn't live there anymore? Where could she have possibly gone? Why would she move out? We have lived in this place for so long. Maybe Vinnie would know where she moved to” Alan made his way to Vinnie’s office. He knocked on the door.

“Come in”

“Hi Vinnie…Jordan moved out? When did this happen?”

“Just a few days ago. Why are you looking for her?”

“As a matter in fact I am. Did she leave a forwarding address or anything?”

“No as a matter in fact all she said was she was leaving but she didn’t know where. I can give you her new cell phone number if you like. I know I still have it somewhere,” Vinnie went to the filing cabinet and pulled out Jordan’s file,” Here her number is 291.3392. She usually had it on”

“Thank you so much Vinnie I greatly appreciate it” Alan thanked as she walked out of the office. Alan walked back to his car and held the number in his hand. He wanted so bad to call but he had no clue how she would react, “Why am I being such a chicken? This is my wife to be. Oh wait now I know why I completely fucked her over. I can’t believe I even did that in the first place.” Alan thought to himself over and over again. He hurt someone he loved so much all because he was jealous of her line of work. It may sound silly but it was the whole truth,” Just call Alan the worst she can do it hand up,” But hanging up was the thing he had feared the most. Alan took out his cell phone and carefully dialed Jordan’s number. It was ringing.

“Alan why in the hell are you calling me? How in the hell did you get my number?” Jordan yelled into the phone.

“Baba chill Vinnie gave it to me. Where are you? I just want to talk. We need to talk. Please tell me where you are”

“No…Alan….it’s over…just go away”

“No! I am not going to go leave you alone until you give me some fucking answers dammit!” Alan yelled.

“Fine since you want to talk so bad. You find you was to Lexington, Kentucky and then maybe we can have that ‘talk’ that you want to have so bad” then she hung up.

“Kentucky? What in the hell is in Kentucky? We don’t even know anyone there. I guess I’ll just have to get on a plane and go to Lexington” Alan said to himself as he started up the car and headed towards the airport.

-----------

Back in Kentucky Jordan was furious. She couldn’t believe Alan would go and ask Vinnie for her cell phone number.

“Jordan are you okay? I heard yelling going on in here” Brian asked.

“No…that was Alan. He must have went to my old apartment realized I wasn’t there then talked to Vinnie and got my cell phone number. I am not exactly the happiest person at the moment. He says he wants to ‘talk’. I told him if he found his way to Lexington then we could talk. And knowing him…he’s probably already on the next plane there,” Jordan said,” This is all too confusing. I think I need to lay down.” Jordan walked up stairs where she was now located. Brian watched her walk up the stairs. For some reason he felt sorry for her. He couldn’t understand it. A feeling just kind of came over him but this feeling was a 'good’ feeling. A feeling that he never thought he would never feel again. It was the feeling like when he first fell in love with his wife.

Chapter Five :: How Far? :: by Carter
::: How far do I have to go// To make you understand// I wanna make this work// So much it hurts but I just can’t// Keep on giving go on living with the way things are// So I’m gonna walk away// And it’s up for you to say how far:::

Jordan had gotten a call from Alan saying he was arriving in town. She of course knew this was going to happen. Alan was going to do everything in his power to get her back. But every time he does…she always falls for it. Why is that? How can you possibly love someone so much knowing you are going to end up hurt in the end? It doesn't make sense, but you just have to live with it.

Jordan sensed Brian was feeling a little ‘sad’ that Alan had came to the rescue. He wondered if she was going to go back to New York with him. He was hoping she wouldn’t. He was starting to get a ‘feeling’ for this new found stranger. He couldn’t quite figure it out. But it was defiantly an attraction of some sort. But is attraction always a good thing? Brian always wondered that. They both kept pretty quiet. They acted like they didn’t even know one another.

“Hey Brian..”

“Hmm”

“Whatever happens today all I have to say is thank you. You have been so kind to me this past week. I couldn’t thank you more. It’s hard to believe I was even here a week. I enjoyed my stay believe me”

“Jordan you are very welcome. But I hope you don’t go…to be honest I love having someone around the house. I get kind of bored and lonely…it just being me you know” Brian chuckled and Jordan slightly laughed

“That was just a given Brian. I hope Alan just doesn't try to pull any of his shit on me. If I know him like I think I do. He has a dozen red roses and a box of caramel chocolates already for me”

“I’ll be there. You don’t have to worry about anything Jordan. The only advice I am going to give you though is…follow your heart…it will tell you the right direction to go”

“Thanks Brian…I needed that reassurance.”

Brian pulled into the Starbucks parking lot where they were meeting Alan.

“There he is” she pointed out to Brian.

“I am better looking that he is” Brian joked.

“Yeah…just stay here okay Brian?” he nodded in agreement,” If I need you I’ll wave for you to come over alright?”

“Alright” Jordan got out of the truck and started to walk towards Alan who was drinking a cup of coffee.

“Hi honey..” Alan tried to give her a kiss on the lips but she turned her head and he got her cheek instead,” What’s wrong? You don’t want a kiss?”

“Cut the crap Alan! You don’t care about me all right. I know you don’t. Every time I take you back you screw me over some how some way” she said.

“Me screw you over? You are the one that took that job”

“That job paid for our apartment. Plus, you are the one that said I should go for it in the first place. So don’t even blame that shit on me.” She said,” To be honest I thought there was just a slight change in your voice when you called me to talk things over. But now that we’re here together. You are just the same ole asshole that you were when I left New York. I can’t keep on giving Alan. I can’t live with the way things are between us. So I’m gonna walk away. Sorry it has to be this way. But it just isn’t going to work Alan. This is good bye” Jordan started to walk away.

“Jordan come on…I’ve changed I swear”

“Save it Alan. I’m not going to listen to you anymore” Jordan just kept on walking and got back to the truck and opened the door.

“So? Are you leaving me?” Brian joked.

“No I will be staying. He is just the same asshole now just like he was in New York”

“I’m sorry”

“I’m not…let’s go home that of course if I am allowed to come back” Brian just smiled and started up the truck and they headed down the road. Jordan watched out the window as she saw Alan sit down at a near by table. She felt bad but she did what she had to do-follow her heart.

Chapter Six :: Man To Man :: by Carter
::: Man to man// Tell me the truth tell me// Where you ever there when she needed you?// Man to man// Look me in the eye tell me// If you really loved her// Why’d you make her cry// Man to man who cheated who// You’re the one to blame// Tell it ain’t true// Man to man:::

Another week had passed since that day Jordan and Brian went and met Alan at Starbucks. All he has done is call her cell phone. She of course just ignored the stupid thing. She almost considered getting herself a new one yet once again. She would so anything to get Alan away from her.

“You know Jordan the next time Alan called let me talk to him. After he gets done talking to me. He won’t call you anymore,” Brian said.

“You know that’s a good idea Brian. I like the way you think sometimes”

“Me too,” he chuckled,” Hey I have a huge idea. Are you bored?” Jordan shook her head yes,” Since you have been around here for two weeks I just realized I haven’t taken you sight seeing around Lexington”

“From what I saw last week it’s not all that exciting” she smiled.

“You just havent seen the whole city. Come on it’ll be so much fun I promise. And it will get your mind off Alan” he teased waving his keys in front of her face. Jordan thought about it for a minute or two. She did want to get him out of her mind. But what id he called while they were sight seeing?

“What if…” she was interrupted.

“Don’t even say his name. You know what now you don’t have a choice. You are going. If he called I’ll take care of it I promise”

“Fine,” she growled. As much as she loved spending time with Brian she knew Alan would end up ruining the whole trip.

The whole way to Lexington Jordan couldn’t help but stare at her phone. The more she thought about it the more she got scared.

“Ease up there. Jeez you’ve been staring at that thing for almost 45 minutes. Take a chill pill. Better yet I am taking this. You can’t have it until we get back to the house.” Brian grabbed the phone from Jordan and stuck it in his pocket and then it rang. And Jordan’s eyes bugged out knowing who it was-Alan yet once more. Brian took the phone out of his pocket and sure enough it was Alan. Brian turned his blinker on and pulled the truck over. Brian saw the look on Jordan’s face,” Don’t worry I can handle this” Brian got out of the truck and walked out into the open field that they were next to. All Jordan could do was look out the window.

Brian answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“Who is this?” he asked.

“Brian who are you?”

“Alan…maybe I have the wrong number”

“No, you have the right number Alan. I am the one who took Jordan in when you decided to leave her”

“Hey wait just a second there mister wanna be cowboy. She left me when she took that magazine job”

“Hey can I just say this. Were you ever there when she needed you? If you really loved her like you claim you do…you wouldn’t have made her cry all those time you did. And not to mention you cheated…how low does a guy have to go? So if it is anyone to blame it’s you Alan” Brian gave him the cold hard truth. Alan was just silent he couldn’t say a word and then Brian heard a click,” I knew giving him the truth would get it him where it hurt.” Brian slightly laughed as he walked back to the truck seeing Jordan still staring out the window wondering what Brian had said to Alan,” I told you he isn’t going to bother you anymore” he said getting back into the truck.

“What did you say?” she asked.

“Nothing really…. just had a ‘man to man’ talk. I gave him the cold hard truth and he hung up. So I highly doubt he is going to call you anymore,” Jordan sighed in relief. No more Alan? She liked the sound of that.

“Brian….I think I love you….thank you so much!” she exclaimed reaching over and hugging Brian.

“Awe it was no problem really. No big deal. I was just ‘looking’ out for you I guess. But how about we continue towards Lexington and finish out our day knowing Alan isn’t going to bug us?” Jordan nodded in agreement and Brian soon started up the truck and they were now on their way to Lexington.

Chapter Seven :: He Aint Worth Missing :: by Carter
::: He ain’t worth missing// Oh we should be kissing// Stop all this foolish wishing// He ain’t worth missing// I know your heart is turning// I know your heart is burning// Girl you gotta listen, don’t you know he ain’t worth missing:::

After a couple of weeks Jordan soon realized Brian was right he would never call again. But Jordan felt emptiness among her. Even though she hated the fact he even called. But that was like her ‘connection’ to New York. She loved being in Wineme but she missed the city. As much as she wanted to go back she didn’t think she was ready to face it just yet.

Jordan walked through the lonely house while Brian was at work in Lexington. He hadn’t been to work in a while and Jordan insisted that he’d go. Jordan picked up her notebook and thumbed through all of her journal entries. She hadn’t written in it for so long.

“Hmm maybe I should write today” she said aloud as she searched for a pen to write with

Dear Journal,

It’s been a while, I know. I am deeply sorry I have neglected you for so long. A lot of things have gone on since I have last written. I set out on my own like I have been talking about for so long. But to my luck my car got a flat tire and lucky me I didn’t even have a spare. So I was stuck out in the middle of nowhere. But luckily I was rescued by a guy named Brian Littrell. That is where I am now. This place is so different from New York City….it’s a small town but its wonderful I tell you! And not to mention Brian is a total hottie. But I think I still miss Alan…oh yeah…I ditched him! I am very much proud of myself, but I still miss him even though he is just a total asshole. But I can’t help but still love him. Is this okay? Am I being a total retard for thinking that? I guess it’s just weird once you have loved someone for so long and it seems like you are expected to get over them in a matter of minutes. I don’t know maybe it’s time to move on you know? Too bad you couldn’t tell me what to do journal. You’ve been with me for so many years. As usual thank you for listening. ~ Jordan~

Jordan closed her journal and looked out the window and saw Brian’s truck pull into the driveway.

“Now what is he doing home? I should have known he would come home early. That little stinker.” She said walking out to the front porch,” I thought I told you to go to work?” she said putting her hands on her hips.

“It was slow today…very boring. So what did you do today?”

“Nothing I guess…I was bored”

“Fun,” he said as they both walked into the house. Brian went straight for the kitchen and was getting something to drink while Jordan picked up her journal from the couch,” Hey Jordan can I ask you a question?”

“Sure I guess”

“Do you still miss Alan? I still see you look at your phone like he is going to call you?” Jordan hesitated to even answer. What was she going to do? What would Brian even say if she told him the truth?

“Um….the truth is…yes I guess I do miss him. Don’t you still love your ex-wife?” Brian nodded his head yes,” It’s just like that with Alan. I have been with him for so long I can’t help but still love him. Plus, I feel like he is my only ‘connection’ to New York.” Jordan confessed. It felt good too finally get all of that off her chest. But now it was Brian’s turn to speak.

“I may still love her. But I moved on rather quickly. Alan is one of those ‘typical’ guys. He cheated…he isn’t even worth missing. In my opinion anyway. You need someone, someone like me” he couldn’t believe he just said that.

“You? I don’t really know you yet Brian…” she was interrupted

“So? You are living with me aren’t you? Do you remember when we went camping by the shoreline the third day you were here? I told you if I ever cheated on anyone I would shoot myself but not really? I wasn’t joking Jordan…it’s just not my ‘style’ I guess is what you would say. But I meant everything I said…he isn’t worth your time…and you just need someone like me” Jordan thought…and thought…and thought about it.

“Brian...I…I don’t know. I just need some time to think”

“It’s alright Jordan take your time…oh yeah…about your connection to New York? I know you were missing him and getting a little what do you call it homesick? So, I got us two tickets to New York. I thought I could use a little vacation and since I have never been to New York. And you used to live there I took the opportunity. And we leave next week.” All Jordan could do was smile and give Brian a hug. Maybe she could get over Alan? It was going to take some time, but it could all be worth it in the end right?

Chapter Eight :: How Am I Doing? :: by Carter
::Well how am I doing since you did what you done to me// I cant lie sometimes cry// When I think of how it used to be// I keep my friends with me// And I stay busy/// And I don’t get much sleep// Baby that’s how I’m doing since you did what you done to me:::

Jordan and Brian were on their way to New York. Brian had never been on a plane before so he was a little nervous. And he didn’t know why he was so nervous. He thought he was just nervous about running into Alan and then Jordan changing her mind. But would she really do that? It crossed his mind a million times wondering why she stayed with him. Brian looked over at Jordan and smiled. Was he really falling for this girl or was in some an infatuation?

“What are you smiling about? I thought you were nervous?” she giggled.

“Nothing I guess. Actually I don’t know. I guess I am just happy I am on this plane to New York exploring new horizons? I don’t know exactly.”

“Oh okay. I am sure you will love New York. Its quite different from Kentucky. New York is more busy and outgoing while the good ole state of Kentucky seems to be laid back and clam. Which may I add is quite nice.” She added.

“Oh okay I see. Well I am sure I will be just fine in New York as long as I have my tour guide along with me” Brian smiled once more and then turned to look out the window.

======================================

They arrived in New York just two hours later and already Brian was amazed. He had never seen the Statue of Liberty before or at least in person that is. There was so many things that Brian had wanted to do. He looked over at Jordan once more and he knew she was glad to be back on her home turf. There was just something about her that made Brian have butterflies in his stomach. Not even his ex wife had this affect on him. There was no other explanation other than love.

When Brian and Jordan got off the plane they grabbed their bags and got into a taxi.

“Don’t tell me you’ve never been in a taxi before?”

“Sorry cant say that I have”

“Damn boy where in the hell have you been?”

“In Wineme there is no taxi service out there you know. And plus I don’t have any reason to take the taxi anywhere when I have a car.”

“Yeah, I can believe that. So where would you like to go first?”

“Anywhere,” Jordan smiled.

“Okay then I am going to take you to my absolute favorite place in the whole world okay?”

“Okay?”

“Where to?”

“The Empire State building please”

==========================================

Once they arrived they went to the top of the building. Brian had never seen such a view in his life. There was nothing like this back in Kentucky or at least that he knew of.

“Amazing isn’t it?”

“I have never seen anything so beautiful in my entire life…well other than you. Bu the city looks so I don’t know how to describe it really” Brian replied. And he was telling the truth. There was nothing to describe the city. No words could come out of his mouth. And just when they thought everything was perfect they saw the one person they least expected- Alan.

“I had a feeling I’d run into Alan.” Jordan growled,” And dammit he saw me” Alan started walking towards her and Brian.

“Hey Jordan how are you doing?” he asked.

“Good I guess and you?”

“oh just fine. I see you and country boy are still happily together.” He tried to smile.

“Don’t bring that up now Alan. To tell you the truth I am quite happy where I am in Kentucky. I don’t have to deal with you!” she exclaimed.

“Oh come on now Jordan. I know you cry and don’t get much sleep because of me” Jordan couldn’t say anything he knew her like the back of his hand and she hated that.

“But I do know one thing…I am over you. Just because I cry and don’t get much sleep mean it’s because of you. You are just a waste of my time. I don’t even know why I stuck with you for so long. You drive me so crazy sometimes Alan I swear! And while talking about it are you sure you aren’t the one crying and wanting me to come crawling back to you?” Alan couldn’t say anything either,” Yeah see I knew it. I know you just like you know me. And I see you are keeping yourself busy with a friend! Are you cheating on her too?” Brian nudged her before she went any further.

“Jordan don’t even waste your time. We’re here to have fun. He is just going to ruin it for you. How about we go and get some pizza or something? Lets enjoy the rest of our vacation without having to worry about Alan okay?” Brian suggested and Jordan nodded in agreement.

“Well Brian and I have to be going. It was nice seeing you again,” Jordan grabbed a hold of Brian’s arm and they headed for the elevator,” So much for a wonderful vacation” she pouted.

“Come on now. We still have like the while week here. Just because we ran into Alan doesn't mean we cant have some fun” She knew Brian was right but when wasn’t he? She knew she had to make the best of this week. She was in her hometown after all. She knew this wasn’t going to be the easiest thing in the world. But it was one thing she was going to have to risk.

Chapter Nine :: Homewreaker :: by Carter
::: You little homewreker I know what you’re doing// what you’re doing// Yeah you’re gonna ruin what I’ve got, but you’re not// Yeah you little go getter// I’ll teach you a lesson// If you get to messing with my man// You don’t stand a chance// No, you’re just a homewreker:::

Brian and Jordan had decided to come home early. And it also didn’t help when Alan was popping up everywhere. It was just something they both didn’t want to deal with. Alan was just not on their choice of people to exactly hang out with on their vacation.

“Hey Brian I got a question to ask you?”

“And that is?”

“Are you glad I stayed here with you? I mean are you glad I didn’t go with Alan? Do you think I made the right decision?” Jordan questioned. She knew in some sense she wanted to be with Brian but something always just set in her mind what would have happened if she went with Alan and left Brian in the dark?

“Of course I am glad you are here Jordan! There is just so much I have gained from you being here. Shoot, before you got here I was miserable because of Kaddi. And now since you have been here. I’ve signed my divorce papers and I am finally moving on with my life. And it’s all because of you. I don’t know what I would have done if you left me for Alan. We are such good friends now. I really don’t want that to change ya know? I love hanging out with you. You are like my best friend well other than my cousin of course. But you get my point,” Brian walked over to Jordan and gave her a hug. And every time they hugged it was like one of those oh so boring magical moments that everyone talks about in all those romance movies. She loved being around him too there was no one else she’d rather be with than him. Its amazing how you just meet someone on the side of the road, and then you live with them for a while and then end up best friends? It seems like it’s hard to believe, but you just have to believe everything happens for a reason right?

“Brian, I never have felt so comfortable in my entire life! I love it here I wouldn’t trade this place for a million dollars. I wish I could stay here forever!”

“But you can. Stay with me Jordan. Live with me”

“I already do Brian. But if you want an honest answer than the answer is yes” But after yet another hug there was a knock at the door. Brian walked over to the door and saw the absolute last person he thought he would ever see, other than Alan –Kaddi.

“Brian who is at the…” Jordan saw the young woman in her pink mini skirt that just stopped right before her thighs (of course not trying to show too much) and she couldn’t forget the black high heel boots.

“Brian….honey who is this slut?” Kaddi stared at Jordan up and down.

“She is just a friend…and you have no reason to talk to her like that. Why are you here? You aren’t supposed to be here….if you don’t get off this property I am going to call the cops. I mean it Kaddi. Don’t cause any trouble” Brian stated. And he meant every word. He didn’t even know why she was here in the first place. Knowing her she wanted to beg for her forgiveness and try and win him over as usual but like it was really going to work with him.

“But Bri bear its your wife”

“Ex wife Kaddi. Why are you here? Don’t make me have to ask you again”

“Come back to me Bri bear. I miss you….I miss being with you. Jordan looked at Brian she knew he heard all of this before. He had told her some of the stories of how Kaddi tried and tried to win him back but nothing never seemed to work.

“No!” Jordan exclaimed,” You cant have him. He’s mine…he is taken sorry. You did him wrong honey and I got your man. And there is nothing you can do to ruin what I got! If you ever come back here again you little homewreker you’ve got another thing coming. Trying to mess with my man. Go on along you homewreker” Jordan didn’t know she had all of that in her. Something just came over her almost like a rush. Brian was amazed as well he couldn’t figure out if Jordan really had meant everything she said to Kaddi.

“Don’t worry Bri bear I’ll be back for you another day” And she walked down the steps and got into her little Honda Civic and drove off.

“Jordan….I have just one question to ask you now. You have to answer honestly” Jordan nodded her head,” Did you mean everything that you said to Kaddi? Am I taken by you? Or were you just sticking up for me?” Jordan didn’t know what to say. She did mean everything she said, but would Brian feel the same way?

Chapter Ten :: I Got A Feeling :: by Carter
:::I got a feeling// My head’s reeling// My heart is screaming// It’s about to bust loose// Bottled up emotions// It’s more than a notion// It starts with an I and ends with a U// I got a feeling// Are you feeling it too?:::

Jordan stood there motionless. She didn’t know what to say to Brian. How was she going to tell Brian how she really felt? But the only real question was would Brian feel the same way back?

“Jordan? Are you okay?” Brian asked. Jordan just nodded her head. She had to think things over. There was no way she could sit there and tell Brian a whole bunch of things and not mean any of it.

“Yeah, I’m okay….Brian I need some time to think to myself okay? I’ll be back later on”

“Okay Jordan just call me if you get lost or something” Jordan knew Brian was a little disappointed that she was leaving but this was the only way she could clear her mind.

“I will I promise” and with that Jordan grabbed her car keys and left. She didn’t know where she was going to go. She turned out of Brian’s driveway and turned to the left towards Lexington.

“What am I going to do?” she questioned herself,” How do I always get myself into these things? Am I really feeling anything for Brian? Or is this just some attraction? Why can’t I just figure this out! I am going to drive myself crazy! Oh what am I saying…this guy is amazing…he’s cute, funny, and he is such a gentleman. And the best part he isnt anything like Alan. But why am I so afraid?” Jordan couldn’t help but wonder if it was really time to get over Alan?” What would everyone back home think when I tell them how I met Brian. Oh yeah we met while I was running away from home…my car broke down he helped me and I had like nowhere to stay so I am like living with him. Oh like that is going to go good with my parents. But I can’t help but like him. He is just so different from Alan, but then again any guy different from Alan is a good thing. “ Jordan was suddenly realizing Brian was something good for her. Jordan pulled into a driveway she saw a long the way and turned around and she was now back on her way to Brian’s house.

-------------------

Jordan pulled into Brian’s driveway and saw Brian standing on the front porch.

“Well here goes nothing” Jordan parked the car and got out.

“Already done thinking? That was quick” Brian joked.

“Thanks for noticing.” Jordan walked into the house,” Anyway well as I drove not even half way down the highway I was talking to myself about our whole situation here. And what I have to say is this…I am feeling everything I said to Kaddi earlier. I meant it all. You are so different from Alan…I don’t know why I couldn’t just see if a long time ago. I couldn’t believe how stupid I was worrying about him when I have something good for me here. I don’t want to leave…I want to stay here with you” Jordan now relaxed and felt relieved that everything was off her chest. But now all she had to do was worry about if Brian felt the same way. Would she be able to face rejection if he didn’t feel the same way? There was only one way to find out, and that was to ask. But before Jordan could say anything Brian opened his mouth.

“I…I…I had no idea Jordan. I really had no idea. I…I don’t know what to say” And that was the truth …nothing could come to his mind…it was drawing a blank.

“Brian?”

“Sorry Jordan…I…I cant seem to think at the moment…I am going to need some time alone…I think” and just like Jordan had done Brian went into his bedroom and locked the door.

Chapter Eleven :: Bless The Broken Road :: by Carter
::: That every long lost dream// Led me to where you are// Others who broke my heart// They were like northern stars// Pointing me on my way// Into your loving arms// This much I know is true// That God bless the broken road// That led me straight to you:::

Brian sat up in his room most of the night thinking of Jordan. He thought of everything possible. He thought of all the ways this relationship could work and everything came up good.

Brian thought of Kaddi. For some reason or another she stood in his way. His whole life had relied on her for everything. And now he has been on his own for so long will he be able to let another in?

“What should I do? Jordan is defiantly a one of a kind girl. Being from the city I never thought she could be so calm and collected. I love that about her. How could I have imagined that something like this was going to happen. How can I express my feelings to her without making such a fool of myself?” Brian looked around his room and he finally came to his guitar. He stared at it for a few moments and then walked towards it and picking it up when he reached it,” Maybe a song would work?” Brian took his guitar and sat down on his bed and started to play a few cords and then the words started to flow through his mind.

I’m gonna be here for you baby
I’ll be a man of my word
Speak the language in a voice
That you have never heard

As Brian wrote down the lyrics and played on his guitar he suddenly realized how much he really cared for her. Only if these feelings were unleashed before? Things would be a lot different. Brian quickly finished the song and wrote her a little letter in the process. Brian unlocked his door and then crept into Jordan’s room and set it down on her desk.

-------------

Jordan walked into her room to get ready for bed when she saw a note addressed to her.

“Brian…” she whispered aloud and then opened up the letter.

Jordan,

I didn’t know how to say it, but I tried so many times to think to myself of what to say to you. But nothing ever came to my mind. But then I suddenly got an idea for a song as I thought of you. I hope you like this Jordan.

I'm gonna be here for you baby
I'll be a man of my word
Speak the language in a voice that you have never heard
I wanna sleep with you forever
And I wanna die in your arms
In a cabin by a meadow where the wild bees swarm

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us

I wanna honor your mother
I wanna learn from your pa
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw
I wanna stand out in a crowd for you
A man among men
I wanna make your world better than it's ever been

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us

We'll follow the rainbow
Wherever the four winds blow
And there'll be a new day
Comin' your way

I'm gonna be here for you from now on
This you know somehow
You've been stretched to the limits but it's alright now
And I'm gonna make you a promise
If there's life after this
I'm gonna be there to meet you with a warm, wet kiss

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us
I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll win your trust making memories of us

This was all for you Jordan. Since you have been here I feel so much happier. You have opened my eyes to something I have never experienced before. I couldn’t imagine you leaving me. I feel like something led you here to me to make me feel happier and to get over Kaddi. I don’t want you to leave. So to answer your question I feel the same way too.

-Brian

Jordan smiled as a tear fell down her cheek. This was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for her. She couldn’t believe it. Jordan set the letter down and walked to Brian’s room. She opened his door and saw him sitting down on his bed.

“Brian…I…I had no idea you felt the same way. I am so glad you do. I couldn’t imagine leaving her myself. I feel as though I was brought here myself to get away from Alan.” Jordan said.

“I couldn’t imagine you leaving either” Brian got up from his bed and walked towards Jordan and softly gave her a kiss. This was something that they both have wanted for so long and now they both finally have it,” So does this mean you are going to stay?” Brian chuckled.

“Yes, this means I am staying,” Jordan hugged Brian. They both were finally happy for once in their lives.

Chapter Tweleve :: She Thinks My Tractors Sexy :: by Carter
::: She thinks my tractor’s sexy// It really turns her on// She’s always staring at me while I’m chuggin along// She likes the way it’s pulling while I’m tilling up the land// She’s even kind of crazy about my farmer’s tan// She’s the only one who really understands what gets me// She thinks my tractor’s sexy:::

Brian had gotten up early in the morning. He wanted to get an early start on the field. Jordan wasn’t home she was in Lexington for a job interview that she had landed for a magazine. Brian walked out to the barn and got out his tractor and got on it.

“It’s been so long since I have rode this thing,” Brian said as he turned up the radio in the process. He started up the tractor. ” I like it, I love it I want some more of it. I try so hard but I cant rise about it. I don’t know what it is but that little gal loves it. I like it, I love it I want some more of it,” Brian sang aloud while he was tilling up the land with the tractor.

====================

Meanwhile Jordan was on her way home from the interview. She couldn’t wait to get home and tell Brian the wonderful news that she landed the job. She was proud of herself at the moment.. She was now offically moving on with her life and without Alan for once. This was something to be proud of. And she felt good about it as well. She soon decided she needed a little music to lighten up her mood even more.

Cause I’m a redneck woman an' I aint no high class broad. I'm just a product of my raisin' I say: "Hey y'all" and "Yee Haw!" An' I keep my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long. And I know all the words to every Charlie Daniels song So here's to all my sisters, out there, keeping it country Let me get a big "Hell, Yeah" from the redneck girls like me Hell, Yeah

"Victoria's Secret", well, their stuff's real nice. Oh, but I can buy the same damn thing, On a Wal-Mart shelf, half price. And still look sexy Just as sexy, As those models on TV. No, I don't need no designer tag, To make my men want me. You might think I'm trashy a little too hardcore But in my neck of the woods, I'm just the girl next door.

Jordan soon got home and saw Brian outin the field. She got out of her car and walked to the fence and stood there and just watched him.

“He looks kind of sexy there. I am kind of digging that farmer’s tan too,” she giggles to herself as she watched him some more. She never realized how indeed sexy he really waas until today as she watched him. He soon noticed her and stopped the tractor.

“Hey you’re home early” he said whiping away the sweat from his forehead.

“Well yeah it wasn’t going to take me that long.”

“So how’d it go?” she asked as he jumped the fence.

“Good I guess” she was going to try and play with him a little bit, but at the last moment she decided not too.

“Did you get the job?”

“Of course I did! Why wouldn’t I? I am only the best writer in the world!” she gave him a hug.

“I am so happy for you…this calls for a celebration. How about we go into the house have a little something to eat and then we go into Lexington to see a movie or something?” Jordan nodded her head in agreement.

“But first I think I want a ride on that sexy tractor of yours” she smirked.

“Well come on my little lady and I’ll give you a ride” Brian took a hold of Brian’s hand and they walked out into the field and got onto the tractor.

Chapter Thirteen :: It Must Be Love :: by Carter
::: It must be love, it must be love// I fall like a sparrow and fly like a dove// You must be the dream// I’ve been dreaming of// Oh what a feeling it must be love:::

Brian and Jordan’s relationship had escalded more over the last couple of weeks. They have never felt this way before. Brian wanted to tell her how he felt for the longest time but nothing came to his mind. He had reservations tonight for a resturant in downtown Lexington. He was finally going to tell Jordan he loved her and hoped she would feel the same way.

Brian got into his truck and drove out of his driveway and on his way to pick up Jordan at work.

----------------------

Jordan sat at her desk editing a paper. She couldn’t help but think of Brian.

“What’s on your mind Jordan?” A co-worker asked.

“Oh…my boyfriend is taking me to this resturant. I guess I am like overly excited,” Jordan couldn’t help but smile.

“I think someone’s in love. So who is he…how did you meet?”

“Well Sandy… its kind of weird actually. I am originally from New York. My boyfriend Alan had just cheated on me. I wanted to get out of there and just out on my own. Well I was going down the highway and I somehow got a flat tire,” she said,” Soon Brian, that’s his name, came along and helped me. He took me back to his house. He said I had some sort of an ‘influence’ on him so he took me out camping tired to beat up Alan. But I didn’t really seem to care much. I just really enjoyed being around him. I couldn’t leave this place,” Jordan explained some more. Every time she talked or even thought about it she’s get goosebumps.

“Awe, how sweet”

“Yeah, I know” Jordan smiled and continued to do her work.

“Oh Jordan I think someone is here to see you” Brian slowly peaked out from behind one of the cubicals.

“Hi honey”

“You weren’t supposed to be here for another hour” she said giving him a hug.

“Well I convinced your boss to let you off just a little early. I wanted to talk”

“Okay” Jordan stropped what she was doing and gathered her things up and they were both on their way out of there.

---------------

They soon arrived at the resturant. Brian seemed excited but what Jordan didn’t know couldn’t hurt.

“Brian this is wonderful!”

“I know it isn’t much” he trailed off.

“No, no its more than enough. Alan never did anything like this for me. All I got to go was to Mc Donald’s or something. He was quite cheap if you ask me” Jordan smiled.

“Yea, I’d say so,” the couple soon orded their food Brian started to tense up.

“You okay Brian? You look a little tense”

“I’m fine”

“Brian, no you’re not so please just tell me” Brian hesitated for a moment. This was the perfect time. Brian let out a sigh,” See I knew there was something on that mind of yours Mr. Littrell” she smirked.

“Well Jorfan…I couldn’t imagine living without you here. Right now all I feel is love. I know we’ve been dating for like three weeks but it must be love or something. Everytume you like walk into the room my day suddenly gets better. I don’t know what it is. Since the day I met you my whole world was just flipped upside down. I just hope you feel the same way…this is why” Brian got out of his chair and put his hand itnto his pocket and pulled out a blue box,” I am asking you Jordan Kelly to become Mrs. Brain Littrell” Jordan didn’t know what to say. She had hoped this day would come for a while now. Everything she had ever wanted was in Brian. She couldn’t imagine her life without him.

“Yes Brian” she choaked out the words. Brian got up and hugged Jordan.

“I love you so much Jordan”

“Me too Brian. This is the best day ever” They hugged once more. This was a relationship waiting to happen in the long run…but in the end it was well worth it.

Chapter Fourteen :: You're My Better Half:: by Carter
::: It’s the sweet love that you give to me// It makes me believe we can make it through anything// Cause when it all comes down// And I’m feeling like I’ll never last// I just lean on you// Cause baby you’re my better half:::

It was finally the ‘big day’- the wedding. Jordan couldn’t be even more excited. Brian was her better half and that is the way it’s going to be forever. There was nothing anyone could do from changing her mind.

In the dressing room was quiet and calm. Jordan just wanted a simple wedding. A few friends and family. But of course her parents disapproved anddidnt want anything to do with the wedding. So he asked Brian’s dad to walk her down the isle. Her whole life was finally coming together. She had her career, almost a loving husband and the only thing missing is a baby on the way. That would make her life complete. As Jordan put on her spaghetti strap white dress she couldn’t believe this was actually happening. She walked over to the mirror and a smile grew upon her face.

“You look so beautiful” she looked in the mirror behind her stood Brian in his tux.

“You aren’t supposed to be here…its bad luck to see the bride before the wedding” she laughed.

“Sorry I couldn’t help myself…I cant wait to rip that off of you tonight” he winked.

“No, now Mr. Littrell don’t get too ahead of yourself” she smirked.

“Hey now that’s not fair” he whined.

“You better go before your mother catches you in here”

“Fine…I’ll see you later futur Mrs. Littrell” Jordan gave him a kiss good-bye abd then left.

“No wonder why I love him so much”

--------------------

Brian walked down the hall to his dressing room and took out the rings from his pocket and just stared at them.

“You excited there bro?” it was his brother Harold.

“Yeah man of course I am. Its just hard to believe I guess. I just divorced Kaddi and now I am getting married again,”

“Everything will work out this time dude. Sh is way different than Kaddi…she is much better for you. I love her man” Harold gave his brother a hug.

“You know I love you bro”

“Yeah, I know” the door slowly opened to a man with a headset.

“You gets ready?” they both shook their heads in agreement and walked out the door and to the altar they went. He couldn’t believe everything was so perfect the pink roses filled the church hall and then the white rosed along the isles. This was the best day of his life.

The music shortly started to play and everyone rose for the bride.

“This is really it…she looks amazing this is going to be the most amazing years of my life” Brian couldn’t help but think of only that. Jordan soon reached the altar standing at Brian’s side,” You ready to become Mrs. Littrell?” he whispered.

“Of course I am”

----------------------

It was now the reception and Brian had a speical surprise planned for Jordan. He rose and took his fork and lightly tapped it on the glass.

“Can I have everyone’s attention? I have a speical surprise for my wife….can she please come with me to the stage” Jordan followed Brian down to the stage. He set her down on a seat nearby and took out a little folded piece of paper with words written on it,” Now you get to expeirence one of my hidden talents.” Brian had the band start to play a few cords and he started to sing.

The first time I looked into your eyes I knew
That I would do anything for you
The first time you touched my face I felt
Like I’ve never felt with anyone else
I wanna give back what you’ve given to me
And I wanna witness all of your dreams
Now that you’ve shown me who I really am
I wanna be more than just your man

I wanna be the wind that fills your sails
Be the hand that lifts your veil
Be the moon that moves your tides
The sun coming up in your eyes
Be the wheel that’ll never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you’be been dreaming of and more
So much more I wanna be your everything

When you wake up I’ll be the first thing you see
And when it gets dark you can reach out to me
I’ll cherish you words and I’ll finish your thoughts
I’ll be your compass baby when you get lost

I wanna be the wind that fills your sails
Be the hand that lifts your veil
Be the moon that moves your tides
The sun coming up in your eyes
Be the wheel that’ll never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
