That was EPIC! I kept finding lines that were insanely funny and quotable, which I was going to post here in my review to tell you how much I loved them, but once AJ and then Nick came into the room the entire story became one giant quotefest. ♥

After reading Something Beautiful, I never realized that you came out with a sequel! So I'm reading through it now. It's sad that Bree and Leighanne have such a strained relationship. Hopefully, by the end of the story they can come to an understanding~
Also, I just wanted to mention that around L.A, there are no 50mph zones... except maybe in a construction area haha, and everyone drives AT LEAST 80mph! It's more likely that Nick was doing 95 or 100 on his way to the airport :P

Oh, Hannah!!! I'm reading this now, a year later because of the Felix 2012 awards, and I feel a little bit ill and depressed after finishing it... but in a good way! It was so well-written, and the emotions were very raw and believable. I guess you could say, I found it incredibly moving. I feel so sad now for Nick D: (Also, I got distracted halfway through the story and went to read the entire Wikipedia page on cryonics, which somehow depressed me even more.) I'm reading Launch right now, as well, and it just made me want to cry thinking of poor Nick always making a last phone call when he thinks he's about to die. ;_____; Great job on the challenge, though. You totally nailed it.

Is exactly what I sounded like gasping for breath laughing when I finished this story. Actually, the gasping for breath started somewhere around chapter 2 during the intervention. The concept is so incredibly ridiculous, but somehow you were able to make everyone's actions and behavior completely believable.
Great job on the challenge. I'm really glad I got around to reading this! (Catching up right now on the Felix 2012 nominees)

Author's Response: Non-linear is a lot of fun to write, too. I really enjoy it. This particular time, the non-linear line happened by accident. I originally wrote just the "after" sequences as the full story, then I realized I really liked my backstory and I started writing the "before" sequences... Thus the nonlinear line was born. Usually if I write non-linear lines, I write two totally random scenes with no plan on how to connect the two... then the story is how those two scenes connect. I do a lot of writing that way, even when the story is seemingly linear. I'll write the end then back up and work to it. :) It helps me focus on tying the pieces together.

I remember when I started reading Launch, and I was trying to figure out why Nick was all bloody and tied up, my first guess was psychotic kidnapper fan... this is so much more chilling.
