Summary:

Brian Littrell and AJ McLean were not the type of men you’d expect to associate with one another. One was a music teacher and a family man; the other made his living in bars and tattoo parlors. Their paths sometimes paralleled, but never crossed… until fate altered the course of their lives. Through tragedy, the two men would meet… to bring justice to a life cut short.

And here is the end that made me go like "what?" You know, just like when you are watching an episode of "Criminal Minds" or "CSI".

I'm shocked.

I don't know what to say. lol Aside that I love Brian's line when he was talking with the social worker, referring to the idea of sharing his donator's soul. I can picture it as an telefilm or film scene. Amazing!

Author's Response: Oh yay! I love that you were shocked at that! LOL I'm also glad you're able to picture what's going on like a film. That's a huge compliment, so thank you so much!!

Oh gosh.

This chapter killed me. I can't even begin to understand how terrible they must feel. But... why do I have the feeling that Lucy's death isn't that simple? Especially given Jori's bipolar disorder and the hint of post - partum depression.

Author's Response: This was a hard chapter to write. I can't imagine anything more sad than that. Hm... I'm enjoying your speculation. Thanks for the review! :)

I love Brian as a modern Sherlock Holmes. lol

So I was right. Jori is Brian's donator and she was killed. Now, the only question left is: who killed her?

I can't imagine how Brian must feel. Because, in a way, he's still feeling what Jori felt. And I can see him trying to bring her justice since, in a way, he will bring justice to himself too.

I really have to say that it's a very original and creative storyline, very different from the typical AU stories that I've read in the fandom.

Author's Response: Thank you!! This is definitely one of more more original stories, and it just made more sense to write it as an AU so I could make two of the Boys main characters who didn't know each other. It was fun to write Brian sleuthing to find information about Jori. I think not only did he want to bring her justice, but he thought it would help put her heart to rest and stop his nightmares too.

This chapter is like a punch straight to the gut. It's painful, it's hard but, at the same time, you've captured the essence of her pain without going into deeper descriptions or images. And there was no need because the only word that can summarize Jory now is numb.

Great job.

Author's Response: Thanks! This was a short chapter, but like you said, there really wasn't much more I could have done to show the kind of pain Jori's in, even if she's not feeling it... like you said, she's numb. I can't imagine what that must feel like, but I did my best.

Oh my God.

Oh my God.

That it's something that I would never see it coming. Aj? Aj is the killer? I love how you put this huge plot twist: easier would have been to just let Aj and Jori's stoyline develop until coming to the point of the murderer. Instead we're finding out the truth through dreams and someone who isn't really part of that storyline. It's... wow. I'm so loving this fact!!!!

Aside the shock, I loved Brian and Aj's meeting. I know I'm being ripetitive but it's very realistic.

Amazing job.

Author's Response: I love your reaction to this!! This was what was so hard about plotting this story... I wanted to reveal each of these plot twists one at a time and in a certain order that was not necessarily chronological. It was hard to do, but it worked out perfectly. And thanks; I loved writing Brian and AJ's meeting. It was nice to finally see their characters interacting in the same scene! Thanks again!

Oh Aj.

Oh Aj.

I'm glad you didn't run.

And I love the last sentence. It seems like Aj is talking directly towards us reader instead than the police.

As always... poor Howie! lol That's the reason why he keeps saying, as advice for new groups: "get a good lawer?" *roll*

Author's Response: Yep... now you're going to get your back story as to WHY AJ killed Jori. I wanted readers to be in the same position as the police, to condemn him before they found out the truth. But since AJ is AJ, I'm sure most people realized there had to be some reasonable explanation, that he's not just a cold-blooded killer. Thanks for the review!

Ok.

Wow.What a last chapters. I can't stop reading.

I thought that Jori had killed Lucy, especially given the hints about his bipolar issues and the post - partum depression. It's sad, it's awful but it's very real. And there is no main reason at all so I get how Aj must feel: he lost his child and the one that had killed her had been her mother and the woman he loved. So, though you can't go like "oh, it's okay. She deserved it", I can understand the state of mind he was when he killed Jori. It's sad how love can be the ultimate and worst killer.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you could understand all sides to this story, why Jori killed Lucy and why AJ killed Jori. Obviously none of it was "okay," but I wanted it to at least make sense and be clear that none of it was intentional, either. It's all just one big tragedy. I loved writing their relationship because it's so twisted and dysfunctional, and yet, I believe the two of them really did love each other deeply. I'm glad these last few chapters have sucked in; it was a nice surprise to find all the reviews in my inbox, and I figured you must have finished the story!

No.

Oh God, I'm kinda loving and hating you at the same time. Hating because you've killed Brian (lol I mean... he's not really dead but with a knife in his heart, unless there is Dr. House or Grey's Anatomy, I doubt he will survive. lol) but loving because this is really something that I would ever think that could happen. It's genious!

Though it's the only way Brian had to protect his son. And to avenge Lucy's death. And it's something that I can see the real Brian doing, knowing how much he loves Baylee.

Amazing, amazing job.

Author's Response: Thank you!! This scene was one I had imagined early on in the planning of this story, but I knew it was going to take a lot to get there. He had to have a reason to do something so insane, and although one could argue that Jori's "spirit" and the memories he was experiencing in his nightmares may have pushed him over the edge into some kind of mental breakdown, what he did kind of made sense even if he was in his right mind, if only to protect his son. I really wanted to show the difference between those two characters in this chapter: Jori killed her own daughter just so she could sleep, while Brian stabbed himself in the heart to save his son. I'm glad his actions made sense to you, crazy as they were!

Oh gosh, tell me that there isn't another twist coming because I don't know if my heart could keep up with it. lol I seriously can't. I'll probably be your fourth dead body. lol

Author's Response: Somehow I missed two reviews when I was replying to them earlier; sorry about that! I'm assuming your heart made it through this chapter, since you finished the story LOL. Thanks for the review!

I'm spiritually hugging Becci. At the end of the story, she's really the only real victim. All that she wanted was for her husband to live and now she found herself in a nightmare. And losing Brian without even knowing why he did it. That must be what hurt the most.

Author's Response: Thanks! I felt bad for Becci in this story too. She really is the victim here. At the beginning of the story, I think she was preparing herself for the possibility that she might lose her husband, but to lose him now, just when she thought everything was going to be okay... that's even worse.

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

What an amazing story.

First, I want to say that the ending isn't a downer. It's realistic. (I need a new word. lol). It's realistic and sad because, as I said in the previous chapter, the only real victim is Becci: she has lost his man, she has lost her son's father and she hasn't a reason to let his death in peace. What would she tell to her son? How will she explain to him that his father took his life and she doesn't know the reason? But, in the end, that what happens in real life. Sometimes, you don't know why other people do something like that. You can guess. But you'll never know.

And that's what this ending is. And that is why I love it.

Amazing job. I've already said it but it's a great idea, unique and original. Especially, so amazingly written and straight to the point.

And I finish my reviews with an italian word: Complimenti!

Author's Response: Thank you SO much for this amazing review (and all the ones you left before it)! I'm glad you liked the story overall, but especially the ending. I thought it was pretty depressing, but I just knew this story was going to be a tragedy. It was kind of fitting that no one got a happy ending - half the characters are dead, one's in prison for killing the woman he loved, and the other one's a grieving widow trying to come to grips with why her husband is dead. I agree with what you said, that Becci is the real victim here. And like you said, there was really no way she could know or understand what possessed Brian to do what he did because it was all in his head. I really appreciate your compliments about the overall story - I am not known for writing especially unique or concise (short LOL) stories, so I love hearing that about this one! Grazie!!! :)
