Wow, I really loved that. I loved how you added the Brian thing, about how people move on and how things change. I also completely adooored that last bit with Bri and AJ, how Brian asked him what Nick saw in him and how AJ replied "Cracks". It touches because it's so true--no one wants help from someone who has everything in order. They want it from someone who has shit going on, and from someone who has 'cracks'. God, I loved that. I think it's perfect where you left it too. You said just enough. You don't need a whole story about how they help Nick because you know that they WILL help him. That they are brothers before they are a group of singers. I also loved how Nick was going on and on, trying to cover his sadness with being busy, how AJ knew anyway. The last part, about checking the closet and under the beds...a tear to the eye, my friend. At our most vunerable points in life, we can sometimes becoming nothing more than children. Completely thrust out into the world, cold and vulnerable and needing someone there to check for monsters under the bed--literal or not. That was great.
