I will say, though, that Walker Texas Ranger is pretty damn entertaining LMFAO.  I tried to get into Dancing With the Stars a few weeks ago and ended up watching Walker instead cause it caught my attention way more.

I'm not saying this because I want to undermine the fabulousness of the boys being second... but the Chinese Backstreet Boys are kind of a huge thing right now if you watched VH1 when they did their top 20 internet stars they were like number 5 or something. Soooooo... they've probably helped spur the BSB searches.

This was specifically for fanfic though, not just Bsb in general.  I'm not sure the Chinese Backstreet Boys would have done much for Bsb fanfiction...

Bon Jovi I can understand, cause it's really not much different from what we do... if you like Bon Jovi as much as we like Bsb, why not?  I like their music; I don't care enough about them as people to want to write fiction about them, but that's just me.
