crap on a stick!
« on: October 25, 2011, 08:58:19 PM »

My sister is getting married in two weeks and they just asked me tonight if I wouldn't mind writing a little love story to recite at their wedding. Um...me? WTF? I have NO idea what to write that won't end in a violent, bloody and suspenseful way! Um...a little help with some ideas maybe? lol

LMAO um...yeah I'd help but there'd be a dismembered body or a zombie eating the couple at the end of it I'm sure.

Wow!  Talk about pressure!  You, who don't write love stories... and only two weeks to do it in??  Yikes.  Um, my love stories are always tragic, not fluffy, so I'm not sure...  Could you write THEIR love story?  Like the flowery, fairy tale version of however they came together in real life?

I agree with Julie... it would be nice to tell how they met and stuff into their very own fairytale. Which of course should end with ...and they lived happily ever after thing. And remember: no blood and cliffhangers. :)

I believe in you, Mare, you have this gift or talent of finding the perfect words for a story. Care to share the story with us after the wedding? and who knows, Romance might be your new genre after the wedding. :)

Once upon a time there was a guy who cheated on his girlfriend which was my best friend with my sister and now my best friend no longer talks to me because of it. And they both lived happily ever after.

the end?

You forgot to add, "happily ever after... in Canada, far far away from me." lol

It's understandable, Mare, and we know you love your sister. Just try to write whatever you feel, just remember not to include bloods and cliffhangers. :)

I do believe you'll write just fine.

okay I stole this idea from myself lol But when I originally came up with the title it was for this wedding.

So you guys think this would work?

Thank You for Loving Me!

Wedding version

Through the stillness and quiet of a night with no TV, phones or books to occupy my time, I’m left with a longing to let you know just how much you mean to me.

I just wanted to thank you for loving me.

On nights where I would stay up late, thinking of bills that needed to be paid, chores that needed to be done or paperwork yet to be filled. A sense of dread would wash over me.

Then there’d you’d be….

Sometimes, with a short anecdote about your day
Sometimes, with a small tickle to my side.
Sometimes with a few reassuring words
Sometimes, with your warm, loving hand on my shoulder

All of those worries just wash away and I’m left with a brand new sense of relief. A relief that I have met the person I plan to spend the rest of my life with.

No great expectations of a life lived happily ever after, or sailing into the sunset waving at the huge crowd that gathers to wish us well. Only the anticipation of what happens next…

As long as we are together… to be continued is all we need.

So, thank you for loving me.
