I hope you guys don't have to backtrack in Vegas, but I guess it's better to shut it down if it continues to get worse than let it spiral out of control.  I know this is especially hard on places that rely so much on tourism, which is why Florida's in the same boat.  (Also, Florida's full of idiots. There's a reason "Florida Man" is a thing...)

LOL yeah Florida is definitely being stupider.

It's hard all around but it's also like if we become a hot spot then the tourism suffers more than it does had we just opened up more slowly. My sister's in California and she was shocked we opened the casinos already. We'll see how this plays out. She wants to come out and see dad but knows it's not safe yet so I'm gonna set up a Zoom chat this week so he can see the kids. I think it's the not visiting that's hard.

The not visiting is definitely the hardest part.  I'm a homebody and an introvert who doesn't get lonely, and even I am glad to be able to see my family and friends again.  Our dinner out tonight was nice and felt mostly normal.

It looks like baseball will be starting back at the end of July!  I'm excited for that!

Yeah, it’s definitely not that easy. When my sister moved to Canada, she really couldn’t do anything because they wouldn’t approve a work visa for her because they didn’t feel like her skill set was essential, so she actually had to commute to Buffalo for work. In the end she decided to just move back to the US. If Trump gets re-elected I’m sure there might be a surge of people trying to cross the border. Trudeau might have to build a wall lol

Yeah, it's very easy to say "I'm moving to Canada!" but not so easy to actually do it.  I don't even really know what Canada's requirements are, but I never fully realized until I started watching 90 Day Fiance what a long process it is to even get a visa to come to the U.S., at least depending on what country you're coming from.  I would imagine Canada is similar.  I've said I would love to move to the U.K. too, and I do think I would love living there, but will I ever do it?  Doubtful.  The reality is, I would never want to move that far from my family, and I'd have to be desperate to jump through all the hoops needed to immigrate.

Well the UK is a lovely place to live, lots of beautiful places to visit, but I've never lived anywhere else so can't compare it to other countries.

It really is!  I studied abroad in Scotland 15 years ago, and it's the most beautiful place I've ever been.  I would love to live in a cute little cottage there.

Speaking of Scotland, I just saw that the Loch Ness Monster is trending on Twitter after a new photo of something in the water was taken.  Who had Nessie on their 2020 bingo card? LOL

If you find a job and place to live in Canada you can move in or if you have already a house in Canada.
In summer many people pass Canada border on Roxham road.

I hope the Nessie photo is real too!  Tim's mum was from Scotland and when he was a kid he was convinced he'd seen Nessie on a trip there lol

We were supposed to be going to Scotland in July and Loch Ness was one of the places we were going to go.  Obviously we aren't going now as travel is still banned in Wales, but we will go one day.  I've only been to Edinburgh and loved it there.  It really is a beautiful place.

I’ve only been to Europe once. I went to London when I was in high school. It was a London and the theater tour so we saw several plays but also went to Stonehenge too. I would love to visit Scotland, Wales and Ireland one day.

Aww, I'm sad you can't go this summer, Steph!  I went to Loch Ness when I was there in 2005, and the boat we went on had a Nessie decal on the window below the boat deck so that if you lined up your camera right, you could take a pic out the window that looked like the famous "surgeon's photo."   It also had a sonar system, and the boat captain told us about once a month or so, they would see a big shape moving in the water that they weren't sure what it was.  He was probably lying and playing it up because we were tourists, but it's fun to believe!

I really want to go back to the UK and go to England and Wales!  We mostly just toured all around Scotland and went to Ireland when I was over there before, but there is so much stuff in London I want to see!  I would love to see Stonehenge as well.  Someday!

That boat trip sounds great! Yes, the crew were probably telling stories, but that's all part of the fun isn't it.  I've never seen Stonehenge, but it's one of those places I'll get around to seeing one day.

From today we are finally allowed to travel more than five miles :)  But pubs, cafes and restaurants are still closed until next Monday, and even then we will only be able to sit outdoors, which in this country isn't the best with our unpredictable weather lol (as I'm typing this it's cold and I have a jumper on, in July!).

Hairdressers can finally open next week too.  But cinema, theatres, gyms etc, there is still no word on when or if they will re-open.

There are no cases in my town anymore, but that may change now that travel restrictions have been lifted.

How is everyone else doing?

I'm doing good though cases are still spiking in Vegas. Rumor has it we're shutting things down again and that they were waiting after the 4th of July cause of the money coming in from that weekend. Rolling my eyes at that here. Honestly I just want people to get their shit together so I can feel safe traveling again next year.
