Dumb Question

Ok so I'm feeling really dumb at the time...but what the heck does "Read count" mean on our profiles? Can someone enlighten me please...thank you.  ::)

It just counts every hit to every chapter of your story, it seems... if you click on your own story, it will go up.  So it's not very accurate in terms of how many readers you actually have, just how many hits your story has accumulated.

Doubt it, because aren't we, as authors, the only ones who are allowed to see it?

And the only way you can make the read count of a story lower is to not click on it. Which you would only be doing if you weren't going to read it in the first place.
