LOL That's why I ask for chapter and word count for people like me who don't overly enjoy really long chapters or stories.

I don't mind long stories if I enjoy what I'm reading.

I think I know which story to put for mine now, something which the reader can get through pretty quickly :)

I'm trying to think which story of mine I should put.  I don't want the reader to have to read a long story if they think the story is crap, lol.

This sounds like an awesome idea Mare! I'm having the same issue Steph lol. I want to showcase something more recent, but I want it to be complete or have a good chunk of it done. Only issue is that the one I am thinking of is pretty long. I will submit it anyway though and we'll see.

If people really have a problem with long stories, they can always turn down the challenge.  You know me; most of mine are long too.  I'm not picking one of the super-long ones; I wouldn't inflict Broken or BMS on someone for this, but I'm in the same boat as you, Mel - all my recent stories that are far enough along to be appropriate are over 200,000 words.

I've picked a short one of mine, but I'm OK reading a longer story.

I am going to start posting the duelers surveys but it's still too early to challenge anyone so please wait to do that until I tell you to. These surveys will give you an idea of what you might want to read. If you have read the story, you can't pick that author unless they are willing to change the story they have picked.

I agree! It's kind of like voting, if you aren't willing to put your money where your mouth is, stop complaining! Although I do think almost everyone involved in that debate will be participating.

Almost anyway. I think if you debated in there you should automatically sign up. I know some complained on twitter about "hating" (which confused me... lol) who haven't signed up though. And that's totally why I signed up. I'm very willing to put my money where my mouth is, suck it up, and get challenged with a romance.
