I feel bad for Shay, this will take a lot of getting used to, and it will probobly hurt her like this for a long time.. But what done is done, and now her and Nick needs to make the best of it, for Jake's sake. And I understand her worry about Jake meeting Lauren, and liking her, and he probobly will like her. That's the beauty of being three years old, they tend to like everyone how gives them positive attention. But no one can ever take a good mommy's place :)
Author's Response: You're right...llittle one's end up really liking most everyone. Some just need a warm-up period. But there's nothing like a mommy to run back to :)

:( poor Shay. I feel bad for her. It's not easy letting go of your child. But I do think Nick does have a right. She should have called Kevin.
Although I do think Nick has a right to see him and she shouldn't have kept Jake from him I do see why she did it. Last time she saw him, he was on drugs and he had insulted her. Who wants their kid near that? Poor thing. Keep up the great work.
Author's Response: Shay's a little over-protective and hurt. Nick's got to make up for lost time. They both have to get past their insecurities and animosities. Let's see how well all that works out, eh? :)
