I don't think Nick could ever be mean enough to take Jake away from her. Personally I think he just wants to be part of his life. She should let him. Keep up the wonderful work. I am liking this one almost as much as the Coaster Series.

I do wonder what Lauren will say when she finds out, but then again it's really nothing she can do besides support him. She didn't even know him back then.. But I do think he should tell her soon, and don't lie..
And to respond to your last respond to me (haha, lol). I totally understand that Shay didn't tell him she was pregnent. He made it perfectly clear how he felt about her (drugs or no drugs), and he didn't even try to find her and tell her he was sorry when the high wore off. I wouldn't want a man like that in my son's life either, even if it was his dad.. And I don't think it would have matter anyway. He was so fucked up back then that he wouldn't have been able to care for a child..
I do hope that he will try to make things right now, even if it is a long way to go..!
Author's Response: I just responded to another review--Nick IS going to have to tell Lauren soon. Otherwise he's just a Mc-Liarpants all over again. Nick with a kid back in 2006 would have scared the heck out of me. Our new-improved hot ass Carter has his work cut out for him!

Author's Response: Actually the clap is gonerrhea....I thought it was chlamydia at first too, lol. Even so that's gross. Carter and STDs is not a hot combination people, no matter how good that boy looks! Jake is a cute kid...I can't imagine a Carter kid not being adorable :)

I can see hating him for awhile but you wanted to do the deed with him. Both of you should have thought of protection before you did it. Now you have a son to think about & no matter how immature Nick can be he wouldn't abandon his son. Personally I hope they can at least work things out. Awesome update.
