''I glanced over at the girls group. There was a lot of skin showing. Unlike the guys, the girls were in sports bras. It wasn't a good sight. The only one who wasn't spilling out all over was Shay. She looked like she was going to vomit. She was wearing a swim coverup and her lips were moving as if she was muttering a prayer.''
---I know that I would be praying....
''Kenneth gave another cue. But I couldn't clap. Tough Richards?
I heard a loud snort from the girl's group. I glanced over. Shay had her hand clamped over her mouth. I ran a hand down my face to cover my smile.''
---I can sense something between those two... I can sense lots of moments there....
''Richard made a little clucking noise. "That's fifty-four pounds," he said. "We're going to help you. HELP ME HELP YOU, NICK CARTER!"
Then he hugged me.''

No one else had needed such a long introduction. It irked me that I couldn't just be myself. My mom always had to be attached to my ass.

My face burned. I was angry and self-conscious. I yanked off the cover-up and threw it at Richard's pixie face. I stepped onto the scale, slapped my hands against my sides and swallowed down every curse I could think of.''
---I HATE do it in front of ppl, and I lose weight. Still, it's a girl thing.
"I've always been this way," I said defensively. "I've never been skinny. Some girls just aren't meant to look like Paris Hilton."
It was a bad analogy. I knew it the moment it came out of my mouth. Even so, I couldn't help but look at Nick. He looked like he had swallowed a lemon.''
---OUTCH! She have a mouth issue..... oh that hurts! Carter was remembering Paris times... UHH... I bet the producers saw that and they are with their eyes on Carter and Shay.
"Well, we're going to help you look like her!" Richard said. I didn't bother to explain I didn't want to look like her. The guy was just nuts. He handed me my wrap back, the producer cued everyone to clap, and my moment of torture was over.''

Author's Response: haha it's fun to the readers (and me as the writer) but can you imagine in real life? There'd be no way! I'm glad you could sense a little somethin' somethin' between Nick and Shay. I'd like to say that 'great minds think alike' and they've got like minds!

Author's Response: LoL it's SUCH a gender bias. I'm probably writing this story at the wrong time. I'm taking a feminism class this semester and a identity, gender, and body image class. :) We had a LONG discussion on Paris Hilton last week...(none of it good)

I can't even... Shay is strong for sticking up for herself when the situation she's in is so embarrassing - I don't think I'd have the guts to do speak up even if I was miserable. I think she's one of the more stronger characters we've seen from you (though you're characters aren't normally weak, she's just very defensive - then again maybe it's just her defense mechanism - she seems to try and justify everything she does.) :)
Author's Response: I agree with you...Shay's already coming through as a strong character. She's the reverse of Livvy who came in pretty weak (at least I think so!) I know if I was in her position I would have just walked off...

I loved the Flavor of Love sooo much and Season 2 was my favorite. Darra "like dat" was one of my favorite cast members. Anyways, I loved this chapter....poor Nick. I can totally sympathize with him and Shay. Loving the story!
