Author's Response: I knew since the beginning it was going to be Brian who wouldn't be able to let go. He tries so hard in this one to keep Nick with him. I can't blame him really :(. I'm touched it's making you tear up though! Means I did my job lol.

Ugh, this line seriously broke my heart: "Dad, you always say God has a reason for everything. Why? Why would he do this? Nick never did anything to deserve this…” :'( And poor Brian, he's determined to not let Nick be turned in so soon... he's not ready to let his best friend go. :( I would more than likely feel the same way as Brian... though it's hard, I couldn't imagine turning my best friend over like that. :(
Author's Response: I always wrote this story with Brian and Nick at the forefront. That's why (as you know by now) "he" wrote it. And it's why Nick stayed at his place, and Brian was the one in charge of Nick. It always at the end, went down to those two, even though it's about the entire group really. So I knew, I'd be writing about Brian's inability to let go. Given his faith and bond to his best friend, it would be the hardest for him, even when you take in AJ's denial. He knows once he lets go, that'll be it. Given their faith, I knew Baylee would be questioning it, who wouldn't? And that Brian wouldn't have the answer this time :(. It's not easy to write, but I loved it in a sense cause it's a new way to explore Frick/Frack.

Aww... I loved every bit of this chapter! The scene with Nick and Baylee was my favorite. Baylee seems to be handling this with maturity, though I can only imagine how hard it must be to see his "Uncle Nick" forgetting who he is and mistaking him for his father. Very realistic, though. Probably more realistic than the Boys beating NSync's record or Nick being nominated for a Grammy, but hey, wishful thinking is fun! Magic muffin ftw! Reading on, since you went on an updating streak while I was gone all day! No wonder I had so many emails! LOL
Author's Response: Awww thank you ZDR! I love Baylee and Nick and sometimes wish I could've touched on that a little more. But before it ended I really wanted to return to it. And yeah...the sales records and Nick being nominated for Grammy aren't soooo realistic but hey, a girl can dream. I was kinda hoping with the whole "things sell more when an artist dies" could apply to the sales, morbid as that is. LOL yeah see, you're gone all day so my SPP was on overdrive! :)

My chest tightened up when Baylee asked Brian why...I can't even imagine how an adult would feel watching someone they love going throught that, let alone a CHILD. That was a very sweet scene between Nick and Bay. And I gotta say, my heart did a little leap with the grammy nom thing. Excellent chapter once again! Sorry to hear this one is close to the end...but I can't wait to see how you end it.
Author's Response: Well...a teenager, but yeah I can't even think of how hard that would be for Baylee to do. I mean it's not even for the adults to handle, but Baylee, it gets ten times harder. I love Nick/Bay when I get to showcase them though. Thanks Jen! I'm sad to see it end, but I'm happy about it too.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping you would address that Nick is regressing pretty quickly. Poor Baylee, and Brian isn't really sure how to comfort him. This is so sad and confusing for everyone.
Author's Response: Oh definitely, Brian knows it, but at the same time, it's not easy to let him go. And since Brian has legal responsibility, no one can force him to do it till Brian's ready. I wanted to be sure to address Baylee too since here he's close to Nick, and now he's living with them like this. Thanks MA :)

I'm happy for Nick, but I have a feeling the Grammy's aren't going to happen while he is still somewhat coherrent. I hope they do for his sake, so he will at least remember it for a little while!

Brian thinking about putting Nick in a home is so sad but I remember when my grandmother (who had alzheimer's and dementia) got to be too much. We couldn't take care of her anymore and we had to put her in a home....it was really hard on all of us, I know how Brian feels cause that's how my mom felt. Good update as usual.
Author's Response: :( I'm sorry about that. Yeah, Brian knows it has to happen, but he's determined to wait till Nick has more bad days than good. So that at least then he won't realize he's in one a lot of the time. And he just isn't ready to let Nick go. Thanks Tracy :)
