What a burden to feel responsible for saving other's lives all the time...I am so intrested to find out more about the role/job of a time watcher, as well as the whole looping situation. The present and flashbacks were my way of revealing things that Nick was keeping from Brian - similar to how I used them in the history chapter. I felt there's some stuff that he just wouldn't tell Brian because Brian worries too much. ;)

Nick has a very valid point. And no one has really given him a reason as to WHY Time Watchers even exist or what their purpose is. Why be given a gift like that but not be allowed to use it for good? I guess we might find the answers to this in upcoming chapters. But for now, I'm with Nick on this one.
I couldn't imagine living forever, I wouldn't want to. To watch everyone you love come and go out of your life, constantly. I can see where it wouldn't bother him if the ministry killed him or not. To live 17 years over and over and over again...no thank you.

I agree with Nick. What's the point of seeing the numbers if you can't help them? Sure, it may be playing with destiny, but if they're not meant to be saved, then what's the point in seeing the digits. Maybe being saved is their destiny. If that makes any sense lol. Good for Nick!! Those bastards! Yeah, some bad may come out of it, but tons more good comes from it. If they aren't here to save lives, then WHY are they there in the first place? What is the true purpose of a Time Watcher if not to save lives?
