Aww! I got all teary eyed just reading this chapter. That was very unexpected and so sweet. And Jake is getting a little brother or sister, great ending :)
I'm guessing you didn't really want to drag it out anymore but that's cool this was a great ending to a great story :)
Author's Response: I wasn't sure if I could get everything I needed to say in 60 chapters. I knew it wasn't going to be longer than 70, but some of my other notes just seemed extraneous. I've had the ending almost completely writtten for a month now :) Glad you enjoyed it!

Nick truly knows what it is a be a parent. Your kid's happiness is more important than your own. Priceless!

Nick is such an awesome Dad letting his team take a fall for Jake's sake. I'm glad Lauren understood. He's absolutely right about loving what's on the inside before you can work on the outside. Shay is much more confident since they first met and I'm so happy to know they're together because they want to be and for Jakes sake. He definitely was a nice surprise and what ultimatepy brought them two together even if they don't realize it.
It's sad to know this story is coming to an end but it is one of your best ones besides the rollercoaster series of course :)
Author's Response: I still feel bad for Lauren, but Lauren's the kind of person that has everything it takes to go on. Like Nick said, she deserves to have someone take care of her as much as she took care of Nick. With Nick and Shay, they balance each other out more. They're both screw-ups...but together they do great things. :)

I'm so happy Lauren still wants to be friends and keep in contact. Makes things so much easier on everyone. I wonder how Shay will feel about the 2 times a year deal tho..lol. And poor Nick..you'd think with Nick's blood coarsing thru his veins, Jake would be a natrual Celtics/TB fan..lmao!! That was just adorable, that scene at the basketball game! I'm just so happy for him and for Shay. I hope this has the staying power. It seems like it will.
Author's Response: LoL I love that Jake loves the Bulls. It makes their relationship even more interesting. That took a LOT for Nick to give up his Celts win! :) I've been dying to write that scene since Nick promised Jake he'd take him to a game. :)
