Whoo, an update! So she is pregnant...the plot thickens, this is not at all how I thought this story would go when I started reading it, but I like it And I was wondering how you were going to throw them back together...very tricky, miss. I love it, great stuff, update soon!
Author's Response: Yay an update! GO me! LOL! I have been wanting to get this out for ages, but what with work and a slight case of writer's block as to what needed to happen next it has just taken a tad longer so thanks for being so patient! Just because she is pregnant doesn't actually mean that they will get back together though, it complicates things a hell of a lot more for the pair of them. There is so much more drama to come so stay tuned! Thanks for the review!
I feel like we are on the verge here...Nick is about to blow, and for good reason...I love the way you showed him indifferent to the situation with the counselor then jumping Adie's ass for something unrelated. And on the flip side, I love that you showed her CANCELLING counseling, which she MAJORLY needs...and then admit she is avoiding him to protect herself. Good stuff, you rule, update soon!!!
Author's Response: There is going to be a revealing scene in the n ext chapter where Adie realises something and Nick won't even have to say a word! She definetly needs to therapy sessions but with him going away soon things are going to get more difficult for them, and certain things playing on Nick's mindre going to cause trouble! Keep it coming, what an evil little spot to leave us in with a pregnancy hanging...I liked the relationship between him and Kristin, we don't see that much in FF and it is unique. I also love that he broke down when he looked at Rachel...

Well he can't find out too early on now can he? I have to keep you guys guessing as to when he is going to find out! LOL! I have a feeling that he and Kristin are quite close and I just felt like I had to show that he isn't closed off to everyone. He does share with people but it takes him a long time to be able to trust people because of what he has been trhough in the past. The whole Adie keeping the pregnancy from him is just going to enhance how much he feels he can't trust her! I mentioned before how much Adie resemles Rachel and it was looking at her and realising what he lost that made him break down.
Thanks for your reviews, I know you always leave them without fail! I will review Casual but I haven't read it proberly yet as I haven't had a spare two minutes this week yet! Hopefully tomorrow I can sit down read that and start work on the next chapter!

OK...I have to say that it is so freaking sad that Nick is getting so close to opening up and right now, when he is FINALLY ready, which is what Adie has wanted all along...there is the BABY BOMB! I hope it doesn't close him off more and halt all of his progress. I am really interested to see how he reacts to the news, Adie is obviously not taking it well. And, how the heck did she get to be 5 months pregnant and not know, she is a nurse, shouldn't the lack of periods and other tell-tale signs send up some red flags? She is also to the point where she is starting to show at 5 months, or very close to it. There is no time for either of them to really adjust to the idea before it is in their face.

I know i can't believe that i have gotten tow updates out in such quick succession! It's amazing or it may be due to the bloody cold and dismal weather we are currently having in England BRRR it is freezing!
It's the whole irony is such a bitch thing going on with this story. He is ready to open up to her although it will be a very slow process but there is going to be now way that he will be expecting her to be pregnant and lets just say the way in which he finds out won't be the best either! It is going to be a huge shock to the system but I don't think he is going to react the way in which people think, he might surprise you!
As with Adie, I think she had suspeted all along but she was having major denial issues. If you go back a few chapters there is an explanation for all of her sysmptoms, ie her getting stressed and that caused her periods to stop as it has happened to her in the past. I think she choose to ignore it because it shows how badly her idealic plans for her life have gone off track.

You are so cruel to live us hanging like this when you are going to be MIA for a few days and not update!!! This chapter is good, I must say that I love the little blips into the past...very sweet.
Also, I did not see him showing up at the hospital or her falling coming...sneaky sneaky...will she be the one to tell him or will a doctor or someone else let the cat out of the bag...update soon, loved it!

I think the blips into the past are important and they are going to play a big part in the latter part of the story. I think it also gives you a glimpse of what they were like pre all these complications. As for Nick showing up at the hospital...they guy needed his stiches out...is it really his fault she just happened to working on that same day?! ;) Well maybe! LOL! And anyway there may not be a baby to tell him about now!

AHHH...I had a feeling that the last sentence was coming at the beginning of the doctor's appointment but we will go back to that in a second.
First of all, this chapter was a lot different than I had thought it would be, I had not expected all of the journals to be in one chapter but I really liked it. For some reason, the fact that Adie had a secret/haunted past hadn't entered my mind.
And the LAST STATEMENT! OMG!!! When Adie looked at Nick I had a feeling that you were going to do that!!! Now, the question is, the first time she was pregnant...who's baby was it?

These aren't the only journal enteries that are going to make an appearance there is more but i didn't want to bore you guys! I put in the ones that are important to make Adie realise that he knows he is blocked off from her and that he was really trying. It also made her think about her own little secret! I don't think you are the only one who's mind it never crossed and that is the beauty of it all!
All shall be revealed in due time my friend! I can't tell you now and ruin it because where is the fun in that?!

Wowza, action packed chapter with an evil cliffie of an ending, you are getting good at that. I can't wait for more...Nick's reaction, for them to really talk about some things - like what the journal said, the rest of the entries, her abortion, etc. I loved Angel's rant too...so true, and seeing a baby and all that, wow, just put it all into perspective for them. I was just on a roll! It's amazing I finished my nights, came home and instead of sleeping for a few hours like I usually do I ended up cranking out the rest of the chapter! The next chappie is going to reveal a lot. You guys will hopefully understand Adie's decisions a lot better, you may actually start to like her!!!! LOL! I won't hold my breath!
The whole baby thing was soooooooooooooooo important and Rachel really only was pregnant in this story for that one scene and also another but that will be a lot later on! I don't want to give away too much! Seeing Nick with Max finally made Adie realise what she could be potentially giving up! OK...I think the beginning, the whole part with Adie coming in, Nick puttin her in the tub, all that, might be one of the sweetest things I have ever read - I adore that scene. I love Adie in the tub with her thoughts underwater. I love all of the little nuiances like Nick remembering she didn't like white marshmellows. And I completely forgot that Angel was there!
The scene of her telling him the truth was great too, I loved when she said she couldn't be honest if he was next to her, but that she was able to tell him while looking at him.

I had a feeling you were going to like the beginning because I think you are as big of a sap for that stuff like I am! It just screamed an aww moment at the beginning and I also think it made her realise what she had done and what she had given up. Nick could be a jerk, could be really childish and shut off but it is the small things like the bath and remembering that she doesn't like white marshmellows that count, that show her that deep down he does really care for her.
The scene where she told him everything was difficult to write because I didn't want to give away everything just yet, a lot more is going to come out through therapy and arguments they have later on, so I kind of just gave you a basic overview of things. She couldnt be close to him and tell him everything, there had to be a barrier between them so she could protect herself in some way, when he met her she was hugely confident but now she has just withdrawn into herself which is something he never expected and it is going to take a while to get to the bottom of everything!

I'm glad my little email gave you push you needed! I love the tenderness of the last part of this chapter, how Nick blurts out his fear and she follows with hers, then they tell each other the thing they love. I am interested to hear more after all of it is processed in therapy. The trust issue is going to be huge, lots of work on that front to come, I'm sure. The whole thing with Mark plays into that, good for Adie for admitting it, but she has concealed a whole part of herself from Nick and left a lot out. And, made Nick to feel like he was the bad guy. Can't wait for more, great job as always!
Great update...I loved the beginning of this chapter and the way you wrote Nick observing. I also thought it was endearing how cautious he was with Max but how he did everything just right. Adie has some major insecurities that are definitely going to cause issues...and I think Nick's natural ability is going to make her even more insecure. I so can not wait for more, good job...and quick on the update, such a pleasant surprise!

Great chapter...I loved the painting scene...and how you conveyed how much even that him saying as little as he did about his parents' divorce and its impact on him. I really liked the end scene too, that Adie is finally seeing that just because Nick doesn't express his commitment to her with an engagement doesn't mean he isn't committed, I think he may actually change in that department. I still am ready for the whole mistrust of Adie to come blazing, she has betrayed his trust in a big way and it is just sitting there, ready to blow. Great update...more soon!

I think Adie has finally realised that being married is not the be all and end all, in actual fact it's all materialistic because a ring and piece of paper doesn't mean Nick loves her anymore. The thing that is getting to her the most is that fact that he hasn't given her back the ring that signified his heart and in her mind it signals that he doesn't trust her. There is going to be a scene in a few chapters about that!

I think this may very well be the best chapter yet...
I was so pissed at Adie at first for not staying home, then when she called in to work and I thought she lied, I wanted to kill her. I think you did a great job of bringing it back around, showing that Nick was no longer running from commitment by showing up at her parents' house and confronting the issue. In a lot of ways, it's like they have switched roles. They are both wounded, in different ways, but Nick is sticking it out and Adie is trying to bail. She needs to redeem herself, she needs to TRY...can't wait for more! Good job!

She couldn't stay home and face him at that point, the dream was still too fresh and too raw, she just needed to get away. Nick needed to make her see that he did have issues with how she left, that she is going to have to work at gaining his trust but he also needed to make her understand why he has such an issue with trust and I think he finally did that in this chapter. You are definetly right in the whole role reversal thing though and there is going to be much more of that later on.

OMG...thank goodness. Great chapter, you did a good job, building suspense, keeping us guessing. I can't wait to see what happens now. She could totally brush it off as him overreacting, but she can't really, now can she? He has a right to be mad, after everything, not exactly the best way to build trust, Adie.
