Things were too good to be true in the beginning, so I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. I didn't expect this at all. I'm sure you have your reasons, although right now I'm not sure I see them, if the baby has died in utero and Adie has to delivered a stillborn I'm not sure she can recover, or her and Nick can recover.

Darby always the pestimist! LOL! Well you were right I will give you that! I don't think may people were expecting this but I do have my reasons, reasons I don't really want to share with you yet as it will ruin some of the story for you. This is going to test them to the brink, this type of situation either makes you as a couple or it breaks you, I have sadly seen it happen numerous times in my line of work. The next few chapters are going to be extremly difficult and sad.

I do hate this, but I'm sure you had your reasons. Such a sad chapter, and you did a beautiful job of writing it. one of my SILs actually went through this same thing, but at 38 weeks...such a horrible thing. Can't wait to see where this is going now! Update soon!

Amazing, amazing!!! You really captured all of the emotions both of them were feeling, this chapter was utterly heartbreaking.
So odd that you mentioned the aspirin, same thing that my SIL I told you about had to do, she has since had 2 healthy children...but the only thing that made the loss of the first one better is to have another. So I think that's where you may take this, if of course, Adie cooperates, which she is not known to do.

Thanks hun, I am so glad that I got it right. It's difficult to tell since I haven't been through it myself. I actually read about Hughs syndrome about six months ago whilst at work! It just seemed to fit perfectly, a lot of the time women don't even know they have it until they start trying to have a family.

It was an emotionally charged chapter but it amazingly just seemed to flow really easily and when I started writing I just couldn't seem to stop, I like it when it comes easy like that. I like Nick in this chapter, he seems as normal as he can...and he is starting to ponder the big question...can they make it? I think this is the crux of the conflict in this story...even without Molly, you have a lot of stuff here that has to work out for that to happen. I am also glad to see that Adie is finally having some sort of breakdown, she needs it...it is the only way I see her realizing what she is doing! Hopefully her bottom won't be too much further down.

I think it is important that Nick is asking that question. He has been completly left in limbo by Adie, he doesn't even know if she is going to come back. It's been the big question throughout the whole story, can two people, two completly different people, comprimise and make it last? I promise you will find out the answer to that question by the end of the story!

OK...where to start. I love Nick in this chapter. I'm glad he didn't go after her, and I think he is playing this right by hanging back and letting her come to him for a change. I really believe that part of Adie's ability to leave him is that she feels like she can always come back. Her conversation with Rachel here was HUGE because of that, for the first time, it forced Adie to consider the fact that Nick wouldn't always be there for her. Which is ironic if you flip back to the beginning of the story where Nick was Mr. Emotionally-Unavailable (or so Adie thought)...however, I think that it has never been about whether or not he loved her, it has been about Adie getting her way.
Now for a little Adie, there is going to be a little bashing (sorry)...I love the way she got defensive and began questioning the doctor. She is a professional, and I think seeing her Dad in that bed and wondering about his treatment plan was totally justified behavior since she is a nurse. With that sad, I did not like the way it flipped and became all about her once again when her Dad had to comfort her when he is laying in a hospital bed. As a Dad, I understand that he wanted to step up and comfort her, but she should've said "no, this is about you, you just had a heart attack". But, by the same token, it was the first time that she really showed any emotion, positive coping with anything that has happened with Molly. So...good/bad...I'm not sure, I was just a little put off by the fact that once again it was all about Adie, even though it is showing some progress.

Awesome review hun! Glad that you liked Nick in this chapter, you are definetly going to like him in about two chapters! You completely hit the nail on the head about Adie always feeling that she has Nick to come back to. He is her constant or what she thought was her constant, Rachel has now planted the seed that is going to make her question everything.
Don't worry about the whole flipping from pissed of daughter/nurse to emotional nuerotic daughter. Someone is going to point her selfishness out to her very soon, she is going to realise a lot about herself from the not so nice home truths that get shared. Big things are going to happen shortly! I'd say we have about ten more chapters of this story left! Maybe a few more!

Well well well...looks like someone is bringing their A-game. AWESOME CHAPTER!!! I think that this is your best yet in this story...you did an amazing job conveying the emotion. I love that Nick just kind of snapped, it is like he is suddenly seeing everything very clearly and getting angry, justifiably angry. It's about time!
I like the way that you had the night she arrived go, and his reaction...so perfect! I love how blindsided Adie is by this whole thing, because really, she has been the one in control and doing what she pleased without thinking of him for some time now...and my how the tables are turning.
I don't know if she is ready for this...or has what it takes to make him stay. I love that although he went off, his mind is somewhat clear, and he is finally thinking and not letting her manipulate him.
I am really interested to see how Adie develops in this new scenario. I have a couple of theories on what she will do, both are very extreme in two completely different directions. I can't wait to see what you do, you always surprise me.
Keep up the great work...you are getting better and better and so is the plot. Can't wait for more, you are also so good about sticking to writing and updating regularly, I miss those days! I am feeling inspired today so hopefully I will get something out soon! HUGS!
Thanks for the A+mazing review sweets! I'm just glad that the emotion is coming over in the way I hoped because sometimes it can be really hard to convey it.
I thought the how the night went when she arrived would be a nice touch because it showed Nick that she hadn't worked on things, that she had been lying to not only him but herself and it kind of gave him that little push that he needed! His "Snapping" was inevitable really, it had always been just a matter of time but now it's out in the open.
I think it's going to be a huge shock for Adie because she is the one who is going to have to fight, she is the one who is going to have to put up with a pissed off Nick and she is going to realise what she put him through and it is going to be a bitter pill to taste! But I think it will do her the world of good!
Hope that you got a bit of writing done! I sooooooooo need a Nick and Quinn fix! I need to see if their night goes better then Adie and Nick's! LOL!

I liked this chapter, it was one of those necessary, bridge chapters you have to write to set up the others but you did have some meat in here. You showed that even though it has merely been a couple of hours, Nick is kind of standing strong and not running back. But by the same token, he can't just completely let go, he proved that by going downstairs. I think Adie knows that, hopefully she won't use it to her advantage and she will be straight with him, really put herself out there and be transparent. I also really enjoyed the Aaron scene, pretty to the point but necessary! I am REALLY looking forward to the next chapter!
As for me...I did START today...I would use that term loosely considering not a ton of progress has been made...once I get going its going to roll out, just need time to focus. It is just going to be one really, really long scene...but with a lot important things happening...I am shooting for early next week if not before. I am having oral surgery next Thursday so I definitely want to update before then. Hugs!!!
Another one...and another great one at that! I liked this chapter, I knew Nick would go...had he not, this story would be over and we would have just read an epilouge! I liked how you wrote Adie being glad he was asleep, how he was cranky when he woke up and it turned into a fight. I liked that Nick wanted to bring up the first impression, even though he was mad, he was looking for something good. It is going to have to be up and down...highs and lows of their relationship are going to have to be rehashed for them to talk this out. The softer side of me liked that he climbed into bed with her in the end to protect her from murderers...cute.

I think Adie has finally realised how far she had pushed him and their relationship and you are going to see a lot more of that in the next chapter. There were a lot of high moments in this chapter but there won't be so many in the next! I think is actually going to regret getting into bed with her but at the same time if he didn't then you wouldn't get the next emotional chapter of the story. Everything happens for a reason!

This is your best chapter yet...I love the rawness of the emotion, Nick's breakdown was beautifully written and we are really getting a good look at him. Now I think this is the best one...this story gets better and better and you are doing an excellent job conveying the emotion of eveyrthing that is going on. I like that you are taking your time with it, working through it step by step...and I think the car ride is the perfect backdrop because there is not escaping each other or the issues in the middle of nowhere. Great great job, be proud of yourself!
Now...you must update soon. I know I'm not really one to talk because I have been slacking in that department lately as well, but I need more Nick and Adie! I am hoping not to go a month again, I am about a week and a half out so there is hope. Hugs!!!
