When Ava can’t take anymore of her boyfriend’s abuse she takes her four-year-old daughter and runs to her brother AJ for help. When AJ tries to talk her into leaving him for good and moving in with him instead, she does.
But what happens when her boyfriend comes after her? Can he protect her? After leaving her boyfriend Ava decides to swear off love. But when Nick starts revealing some hidden feelings about her will she give in? Or will she let her history of bad relationships get in the way of true love?

Like you know you want to be with this person but do you really wannna change everything in your life and make your lives as one. its a weird balance to try and find. loved this update. cant wait for more. i cant believe theres so much more. yay.

Thanks, Mary! I am so glad you liked this column, for some reason, this one was the hardest to write, my original thought on what it would be got chucked completely when that last line Quinn said came out of my fingers. I actually had it almost finished last night, but it was too choppy and all over the map so I came up with the beginning ths morning.
I know, when I first started writing this story I had no idea that it would be this long or I would have so many ideas...there is A LOT more to come with Nick and Quinn...but I think it might end up being very different than what you guys would expect!

aw i remember how you ended your other story made me really upset. lol so i hope you dont end it similarly, where they learn from each other and do better in other relationships. im so negative. love it.
Author's Response: I can promise you it won't end EXACTLY like that...but you are in for a treat...and so you know, there will be more than one story, Casual isn't the last you will see of Nick and Quinn. I have actually been thinking about redoing some of my older stories and posting them here. I used to be hosted on My Confession WAY back in the day, I and they will need a lot of work - a possible side project for when I get hung up on Casual. Thanks again for reading and reviewing!!!

I have to tell you that I wrote the ending of this chapter right after I finished the first scene because the conversation kept playing in my head...like I said in response to someone else's review, I have known that this would be how he would finally tell her for a long time. I must admit that as I filled in the chapter, I kept going back to that part and thinking "omg, is this too cheesy..." but I think it fit...and I'm glad I got it out of the way!!! Just a mini-freakout...but that is to be expected, she is making progress on the freakout front - they are getting less dramatic, which is a good thing, right? I love the columns too, they always feel really rambly when I write them because it is just kind of Quinn's inner monolouge coming out but they seem to work. The party is coming in the next chapter, be prepared for some interesting interactions and a very mixed group of people to be present!

I know...he is a cheeseball...Nick came out way more insecure and sprung in this chapter than I had originally planned, and Jake came out way more jerkish than I expected. You think Jake is going to try something? Why would you think that :o)? I love AJ too, he always pops up at the right time and brings Nick back down to earth. I actually hadn't planned for him to be in this chapter but when Nick came out so freaky in this one, he needed a little AJ to bring him back. I don't think Quinn has any idea how she is feeling...I mentioned this to someone else, but I think she is even surprised herself when things like that slip out of her mouth because she sure is trying not to think about it - she is, afterall, the queen of denial!

Author's Response: Yeah, she didn't totally do it, now did she? Nick wasn't pleased at all, but he is burying it and taking it for what it was...a step. There is so much more to come, Mary. I sense that you have been displeased with what is happening here lately and you will probably continue to be, but hang in there! You have been one of my most loyal readers and reviewers since I began writing this story and I really appreciate it!
amazing. that last bit was definitely big. jake is way too into her still apparently ahh. I feel like making a mistake with him might be something that makes her realize her feelings for nick. who knows. can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Baby steps, right Mary? Ha...Quinn is coming to some realizations, I think right now she is just very confused and unsure about everything she is feeling because it is on overload. I can tell you that Jake never got over Quinn, and he will be around a bit longer, but I think it will all shake out much differently than you might think...so you have to keep reading :)...thanks for always leaving me such sweet reviews, it definitely keeps me inspired!
