Action-adventure fiction features physical action and violence, often around a quest set in exotic or forbidding locales such as jungles, deserts, or mountains.

Or, in the case of the nominated stories the woods, the rails, Hogwarts, a wedding, in the midst of a mob shakedown, a dimly lit bar, and a Christmas celebration gone bad.
