"GO!" I screamed for Ally to swim to shore. "GO!"
I saw her swim as fast as she could to shore. I looked back the shark; it was trying to shake me off of him. I held on it as hard as I could.
(Ally's POV)
I turned around, looking to see if Nick was ok. He was fighting with the shark. I was near the shore and I turned around one more time. Nick let go of the shark, and it was after him. Nick was in front of the shark, trying to stab the other eye. I turned around; I couldn't anymore. It's too much. A bit closer to the shore, I heard a scream . . .
My heart pounded harder with each beat. I ran inside the house, my hands shaking. I grabbed the phone.
"B-Brian?"
"What? Ally, it's 3:30 in the morning," he said groggily.
"It's Nick, Bri. He's dead," I sobbed.
Brian didn't say anything for a few seconds. "I'm coming over."
I sat on the couch, my knees on my chest, and my eyes wide in shock. The love of my life, the man that made anything possible, my inspiration, was dead. Brian entered the room. I left the door open for him.
"Tell me what happen . . . if you could," he said.
"Boat . . . night very romantic . . . he made it . . . Shark attack . . . saved me . . . scream," I said, not looking at him, still wide-eyed shocked.
He nodded. "I'm callin' the guys."
"Whatever," I said.
"Get some sleep," he told me after he called everyone.
"I can't. I'll die."
"Ally, . . ."
"I will. I loved Nick like . . . like . . ." Tears went down my cheeks. ". . . I can't explain. It's so much I can't explain. There isn't a word for it. I-I . . . Eveything I do is not enough for me to show my love for him."
Brian held me comfortingly. He rubbed my back and rocked me back and forth.
The guys entered the room.
"What's goin' on?" Howie asked before anyone.
Brian let go of me, stood up, and faced everyone. "Nick's gone," he whispered.
Kevin, Howie, and AJ faced the floor. Kevin went to the kitchen. Brian followed him. Howie, AJ, and I heard the conversation. Kevin was crying.
"Kev, . . ."
"Even if that kid was in trouble during the tours, I still loved him," Kevin sobbed, hitting the counter with his fist. "He was like my little brother. I was his role model."
"I know that. We all know that, but we have to be here for Ally. Out of all of us, I believe she misses him the most."
Kevin didn't say anything. I think he just nodded. Softly, I sang the song that always made me cry and always dedicated to Nick . . .
