Fantasy Land
I spread my wings and fly
into a fantasy land.
Where fairy's sing
and unicorns roam.
Into this land I go
to hide away from reality.
With wings of wax
and human feet.
I hide from the world
because of my fear.
A childish fear
that can't be broken.
I fly into the sun
hoping my wings will melt
and fall down into
the dark pits below.
I lay broken
unable to be fixed.
Snakes wrap themselves
around my heart squeezing to death.
I want to break free and try life once again
but is it possible to escape?
I can only sit and pray
time can fix everything.
This fantasy land is my only escape
from the pains I feel today.
A fantasy land with gentle creatures
and those evil creatures I may be safe.
This fairy land I seek to find
something to break the pattern
of broken dreams and wild
fears.
