A week later…..

“Oh my God,” Melissa gasped. “He broke up with you ‘cause of Nicole?”

“Yep,” Lenore whimpered. “He said it was for the best and that no guy, not even him, was worth losing a friendship that’s been going on for almost nine years.”

“I’m so sorry,” Melissa said hugging her very upset friend. “I can’t believe he’d do that because of her; remind me to kill her later.”

“I’ll probably kill her first,” Lenore stated. “Just wait ‘till I get my hands on her.”

“I thought you promised Nick you wouldn’t kill her?”

“I thought he promised to ‘never break my heart’!” Lenore snapped. “Now, where is the little wench?”

“Okay, you gotta point there,” Melissa replied, trying desperately not to laugh, for she knew her friend was really upset.
