You only hold me up like this
Cause you don't know who I really am
Sometimes I just want to know what it's like to be you
We're making out inside crashed cars
We're sleeping through all our memories
I used to waste my time dreaming of being alive
(now I only waste it dreaming of you)

Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains my pillowcase
Like I'll never be the same

You only hold me up like this
Cause you don't know who I really am
I used to waste my time on
Waste my time on
Waste my time dreaming of being alive
(now I only waste it dreaming of you)

Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains my pillowcase
Like I'll never be the same

I've got headaches and bad luck but they couldn't touch you, no
I've got headaches and bad luck but they couldn't touch you, no
I'm not trying
You only hold me up like this

Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains
Like I'll never be the same

I hopped down off the stage, and jogged over to my cousin, ready to leave. “Petey” I cooed, snaking my arm around his waist. He groaned, and I looked up as Patrick laughed, “Petey?” He asked, cracking up, and I smiled. I looked up at my cousin, and sighed. Ever since I was little, I had lived with Pete’s family because my parents didn’t want my sisters and me. We’re sixteen, and Pete is twenty-six. I smiled as he whirled me around, asking me what I wanted. “Mel wants to use the rehearsal room.” I complained, referring to my other cousin, on my dad’s side, who had black hair, and green eyes. She was dating Panic at the Disco’s Ryan Ross, who was eighteen a year older than her. He was in a band with her named The Wave. Panic at the Disco was on a year break, and Ryan had formed the band with Mel. Them and their two friends Flame and Dee. Mel sings, Ryan plays guitar and sings, Dee plays guitar, and Flame plays drums. I rolled my eyes as Andy looked up hopefully, hearing Mel’s name. The dude has had a crush on her since he first met her back when I was eight. I glanced over at Flame, his spikes gleaming in the light. He smiled at me, winking. I blushed, and turned away, looking over at my younger sister, Zoe. She was trying to play Pete’s guitar, but it was too big for her. I laughed, and ran down the aisle of the rehearsal room inside the gigantic building that sat at the edge of our farm property in the hills of Virginia. “Zoe.” I yelled, hopping back up on the stage. She looked over at me as I picked up her electric pink guitar, bringing it to her. She smiled, and I traded guitars with her. The red and black guitar fit against my hand perfectly as I began playing, “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More “Touch Me””. I heard Joe begin to play along, then I heard the drums, and Pat began to sing along. I smiled, and Pete began to sing along. I began bobbing my head, getting into the song. Then I heard the doors open. I stopped playing and watched my boyfriend come storming down the aisle. “Jazzy.” He said, hopping on the stage. “What Jeremy.” I asked, stopping my playing that I had started again. “I need twenty bucks.” He said, sticking out his hand. I sighed, but dug twenty out of my pocket, handing it over. He smiled, and kissed me on the cheek before leaving. I rolled my eyes, and put Pete’s guitar down. Julieanna smiled up at me from the front row of seats, her black hair gleaming in the light, showing off her red ends. I smiled back, and swept my hair quickly into a ponytail. I heard someone creep up behind me, and whirled around to see Pete standing innocently next to a water cooler. “What are you doing Pete Wentz?” “Nuthin.” He replied casually, reaching for his water bottle. I smiled, and turned back around, only to get hit with a cascade of water. “PETE.” I screamed, chasing after him. He laughed, and began to run out of the building. I laughed, and began to follow him when suddenly I tripped. I felt hands holding me, and looked up to see Patrick smiling at me. “Careful.” He muttered, setting me upright. I smiled, and ran after Pete again, jumping over the couch in the lobby of the building. Pete smiled, and raced out of the building, me chasing him. We raced across the farmland, laughing as we tripped occasionally. “PETE.” I yelled, stopping when I saw the van parked out front. “What.” He asked, walking over to me. “Who’s that?” I said, pointing to the van. Pete shrugged, but when he saw who got out, he shoved me in the direction of the house. “Get inside.” He hissed, shutting the door. I ducked low on the porch, hidden from view, but I could still hear what was being said. “Hello Peter.” A male voice said curtly, and I heard Pete reply, “Hello Uncle Harold.” I gasped, and quickly covered my mouth, afraid I was heard. Why was my father here? He gave me to my aunt because our mom didn’t want us and neither did he. I looked up briefly, and caught sight of what my father looked like. Last time I remember him he had long black hair in a ponytail. He still had black hair but it was cropped short. I saw a figure move in the car, and looked over to see a small child in the front, leaning out the window. “Daddy, I wanna go home.” “One moment Noah.” My dad said, walking over to the car. He took the boy of the car, and Noah began to run to where I was. “I want my children.” “Sorry, they are legally mine.” Pete said, and I caught sight of Julieanna. I kept motioning for her to go back, but she ignored me. “Petey.” Julieanna cried, flinging herself behind Pete’s body. “Ahh, my daughter Jasmine.” My father said, and I heard the porch door creak open. “Who you.” A small voice squeaked, and I looked over to see Noah. “NOAH, stay out of where you don’t belong.” My father scolded, coming over to where Noah stood frozen near me. “Ahh, Julieanna.” “Actually, it’s Jasmine, if you want us you better get our names straight.” I hissed, stepping out of his reach. “You ungrateful little-” My father said, grabbing my arm and tossing me out of the porch. “Hey, don’t hurt my sister like that.” Terri said, and I groaned, watching as she ran over to me. “Jazzy, you okay.” “Yeah Ter, but you just stepped on our father’s foot.” She looked over her shoulder, and gasped when she saw our dad. “Ahh, Terri, my little girl.” He said, reaching for the last of us triplets. “GET AWAY FROM ME YOU HORRIBLE MAN!” Terri screeched, pulling me up, and behind Pete. “I came to get all four of my children back, and I want them now.” My dad said, and I saw a vein in his temple start to bulge. “No. My parents got legal custody of them, and then after we moved out, I got the judge to transfer custody, so unless you want to have your butt kicked off my property, leave.” Pete said, tensing up. “I. Want. My. Children.” My dad said, walking up to Pete. Pete didn’t’ move one inch, just stared at my dad. “You. Can’t. Have. Them.” He said, whistling loudly. Suddenly, Patrick and Andy rushed out of the rehearsal room, looking for Pete. “Guys, take them inside.” Pete said, grabbing my hand, and ushered the others over to the other guys. Andy grabbed Terri’s hand, and led her inside while Patrick, Pete, Julieanna, and I remained outside. “Girls, come on, give your old man a chance.” He begged, walking forward. “Dad, you blew your chance eleven years ago.” I said, taking my hand out of Pete’s. I knew I was pushing it by taking a step forward, but I did anyway. My dad looked at me expectantly, but I only crouched in front of Noah. “Enjoy your daddy before he takes you away like he did with us.” I said, looking at him with tears in my eyes. “Sissy.” He croaked out, his lip trembling. I nodded, tears blinding my own vision. Then, with a force I didn’t know a four-year-old could possess, Noah ran to me, and knocked me over. I felt his little arms wrap around me, and his tears soak my shirt. “Noah, listen to me.” My dad said, but one glance from Pete stopped him. I wrapped my arms around my baby brother, and began to cry with him, shaking us even more. Then I felt another pair of arms around us. Julieanna started to cry with us, and I heard Terri’s voice say, “Who are they hugging.” “Your baby brother.” Pete said, smiling at her. Terri ran to us, and dropped, hugging us and crying as well. “Petey.” Zoe cried, and saw us all in a hug fest. Without thinking she dropped to the ground, and said, “Is this a long lost sibling.” I nodded, and Zoe joined in on the hug. There we all were, all the Brooks kids, hugging and crying. Our dad had begun to stutter, trying to think of something to say. “I think he wants to stay.” Pete said, and my dad nodded, going over to the car to retrieve something. When he came back with a suitcase, I got angry. “Guys let me go.” I said, handing Noah to Julieanna. They let me go, and I stood up to face our dad. “What where you gonna do with him dad, huh? Were you gonna bring him to an orphanage, dad? Were you gonna abandon your son, the son you always wanted?” I felt the tears begin to fall, so I swiped at them, angry with my dad. “Jasmine, your mom is sick, and can’t take care of him; she wanted him to live Aunt Harriet.” My dad defended meekly, putting the suitcase on the ground. “That isn’t an excuse dad. So what if mom’s sick, hire a babysitter, don’t take the kid away from his home.” My dad looked like I had shot him, and all he did was back up. “Bye Noah.” He muttered, getting into his car. “DADDY.” Noah screamed with such emotion that it reminded me of us when he left us. “Noah, he didn’t want you.” I said, heaving him onto my hip. “I want my daddy.” He whimpered, clutching my t-shirt in his hands. “Come on Noah, it will be like a sleepover.” “I don’t want a sleepover, I want daddy.” He cried, burying his face in my shoulder. “Come on champ.” I said, walking down the dirt path towards the doghouse with him. “DOGGY.” He chirped, seeing Skipper. Skipper heard Noah’s voice, and ran up to me, jumping against my legs. “Down boy.” I commanded the puppy, watching him whimper at me before backing up. I set Noah on the ground, and watched him chase the golden retriever puppy around his enclosure, laughing hysterically. I smiled, and felt arms wrap around my waist. “Hey hunny.” Jeremy’s voice said in my ear, and I smiled, turning around to face him. “Hey babe.” I said, kissing him lightly. “Eww. Kissy faces.” Noah squeaked, and I laughed against Jeremy’s lips. “Who’s the kid?” Jeremy said, looking up as Noah ran up to us, trying to push us apart. “Jeremy, meet my little brother Noah.” Jeremy smiled, and crouched down to Noah’s level. “Hey little guy.” Noah hid his face in my leg, and I laughed, picking Noah up to Jeremy’s level. “Jeremy, say hi to Noah.” “Hi Noah, do you like race cars?” Noah nodded eagerly, and I smiled, saying, “Why don’t you go with Jeremy, and talk to him about race cars? He will bring you back up to the main house for dinner okay buddy?” Noah nodded, and I handed him over to Jeremy, Noah already rattling about race cars at about 100 mph. I smiled, and headed back to the rehearsal building. Pete was lounging in the lobby when I walked in, munching on an apple. “Jasmine.” Pete exclaimed, shooting off the couch. I smiled, and walked over to him, saying, “Noah’s with Jeremy.” Pete smiled, and wrapped an arm around my waist, saying “Don’t you have to go to work?” “Oh I totally forgot it was only Maddy and I tonight.” I exclaimed, slapping myself in the forehead. “I gotta tell Noah that Jules will take care of him tonight. “ I moaned, rushing off to find my boyfriend and brother. I was lucky I found them really close, at the garage, looking at my quad. “Hey Noah, do you think you can hang with Julieanna tonight, I have to work.” “Otay, but come back.” He muttered, reaching out for my hand. I smiled, and squeezed his hand, saying, “Of course.” I left the garage, and ran back to the rehearsal room, skidding to a stop in front of Pete. “Gotta go. Love ya, bye.” I said, kissing his cheek before rushing out to the driveway and my Jeep 4runner. The engine hummed to life as I rushed out of the driveway, turning onto the main street. The radio blasted music as I sped towards the mall, hoping I wasn’t late.
