The next day Kevin is awakened by his mother rubbing his face gently. “Good morning, Boo.” She says. Kevin sits up and looks around at the people he loved the most minus one. Viggo was sitting between Howie and Rain cradling them. Kevin looked around “Where's J?” he asks. “We couldn't get him on the phone.” Nick says. “Good, I don't want him here.” Jackie Littrell says. “He seduced my baby with his lies and made Brian divorce his wife.” She continues. “You don't know what you're talking about.” Howie says sitting up. “Don't speak to me like that, you probably helped him turn my baby into an abomination.” Jackie said looking at Howie. “Believe me he didn't need help.” Howie shoots back. “How could you let this happen Kevin you were suppose to protect Brian and watch after him.” Jack says to her nephew. “I did watch after him I made sure that he was safe even when he didn't want to be. I kept my end of the deal I told Brian I would always be there for him, that I didn't care who he was with as long as he was happy and guess what he was happy with Alex until you decided to tell Brian to choose between his family and the person he loves and who loves him back. So no this isn't my fault it's yours.” Kevin says
“Stop, this isn't going to help anything if we're going to fight.” Nick says. “Well, we're family so we get to go in first.” Jackie says. “Rain, wake up we're leaving.” Viggo says waking his son. “What about Brian aren't we gonna go see him.?” “Not right now, we're not wanted here.” Viggo says standing up. “Don't think you're going to see him tomorrow either.” Jackie says. “Jackie they have every right to see Brian they're his friend and family too.” Ann tells her sister. “I don't want them around my baby while he's sick.” she says. “Kev, tell Brian he's in my prayers.” Howie says hugging his long time friend. “D, don't go please just ignore her.” Kevin says. Howie smiles and starts to leave. “I need you. I can't do this by alone D.” Kevin says his voice choking with emotion. Viggo walks over pulling Kevin into a hug. “It's ok, we'll stay.” he whispers. Howie joins the hug followed by Nick. Slowly they pull apart “Alright somebody in this section needs a breathe mint.” Nick says smiling. “It's probably you.” Kevin says. Rain hands his dad a tin of Altoids. “Thanks.” “That would probably wake Bri up you know how he hates bad breathe.” Howie says “Yeah, remember the time he offered Lou some gum?” Nick says chuckling. “He was so mad, and Bri paid for it.” Howie says smiling.”Bri, hell we all paid for it.” Kevin says smiling remembering the week following Brian's offer.
A nurse tells them they can visit in small groups.
The Backstreet Family prayed for Brian's recovery for two weeks with no change. “We should get Baylee up here to...” Jackie started but couldn't finish. “I'll call Denise.” Howie says leaving to go call Denise. “I'm going to try to call Aj again.” Kevin says “The man he is suppose to be in love with is laying in a hospital bed and he's nowhere to be found, I'm going to kill him when he gets here.” Kevin says as he gets no answer from Aj's cellphone.
