While I love all the boys, Nick is my muse, so all my fanfiction is about him. My New Year's Resolution is to NOT be George R R Martin and make all of you wait six years for an update. I was so thrilled when I saw your name on the reviews! I appreciate feedback from anyone, but it's always flattering to hear from talented authors whose writing I admire, too. Thank you so much for giving Curtain Call a try, and that's awesome that it hooked you so quickly! Thanks for the compliments about my writing. This one was a challenge for me at the beginning because it's in first person, which I usually don't write, but I think starting from Cary's point of view instead of Nick's was helpful because she is easier for me to write, being a girl and a fan with an otherwise normal life, outside of American Idol. It's easier to get inside her head and incorporate those realistic details. Again, thanks so much!!

Okay, seriously? SERIOUSLY. You and I need to talk. I wasn't even halfway through the very first chapter when I was already in love with this story.
To start with, your writing is wonderful. The language just flows so smoothly and the attention to detail is superb. As I read, I felt completely grounded in reality, which is a trait that many take for granted when it comes to fanfiction.
We haven't even gotten to Nick yet, and I have no idea what this fic is going to be about yet, but I feel absolutely excited about the story to come. :)

So I plowed through quite a few chapters on my Kindle, and you are probably going to be flooded with a dozen reviews as I proceed to tell you all my favorite bits and pieces ♥ (Sorry I just love this story so much haha!)
Two things that I especially enjoyed from this chapter:
"'You need me to prove it or something?' he asked, when I didn’t say anything back right away. He sounded half-irritated, half-amused. Oh God, he so sounded like Nick…"
I have to confess that this passage made my heart beat a little faster. I felt like you got Nick's character down perfectly right off the bat. I guess it made me a little bit swoony~
The other thing I really loved was Nick singing Evergreen and Cary's reaction. Priceless!

I am not a big fan of pigs, but I found a YouTube video of this little pig being trained to sit, and it was soooo adorable. Plus, I just love the name Hambelina. I would get a teacup pig myself just to name it that LOL.

This made me burst out laughing. In public. :D I love this little exchange between Cary and Jessica, it just seemed so genuine. In fact, that's what I love about this whole story so far--even though Cary's experience is so extraordinary, you portray it in a way that's perfectly plausible. I have no trouble believing that this might happen in real life even though it's a work of fiction.

I adored the image of Nick rocking out to Lady Gaga in the back of a taxi cab. I think that if I could ever have one moment with Nick, it would be doing that. ♥
Oh and I totally picked up on the vibes of Nick trying to get Cary to stay over at his place, and it gave me a sick feeling... Then when he took off his shirt, I honestly freaked out and thought he was going to try to jump her or something D: I'm glad it wasn't anything gross like that, but poor Nick! You wrote the first couple of chapters so cleverly because although the clues were in place, I don't think anyone could have guessed that Nick would turn out to have a serious illness.

Back to my individual chapter reviews! :3 When I read this, I thought--poor Nick! It must suck after getting clean and healthy to experience all these health issues... :(
BTW, I was wondering if you watch House because of the reference to pleural effusion. It's mentioned fairly often on House, but in error because pleural effusion refers to fluid in the membrane surrounding the lungs, while pleural edema is fluid within the lung itself. (I only know this because of Polite Dissent, which does medical reviews of House xD)

I really like how you wrote Nick's breakup with Lauren because it wasn't full of drama (or killing her off lol). I found it really bittersweet and touching. It's sad, but sometimes even the best relationships come to that point when you realize that you're not on the same page anymore with what you want out of life...
Also, Nick's joy over losing two pounds just wrenches my heart because I can already tell that it's not healthy weight loss >_<

I loved the description of all the Boys' singing quirks. I could just picture every one of them, from Nick's hair raking to Brian's heart patting. It made me smile!
