Hi, I'm Julie. I'm an elementary school teacher from Illinois. I started reading BSB fanfic over the summer of 1999, when I was 14, and I've been writing it for almost as long. My favorite kind of stories to write are drama/angst with a hint of romance, and most of my stories are about Nick or Brian.

Omg... what a beautifully-written, tragic, powerful story. It brought tears to my eyes. I like how you managed to humanize the Nazi, even though he committed such a horrible act of evil at the end. Very sad, but you did an amazing job.

AHHHH, awesome first chapter!!!!! I'm into it already. Nice set up of Heather's back story at the beginning, nad the Colleen scene was intense! Omg... totally scary! You did a great job at putting us, the readers, in her place there. Amazing start; can't wait for more!!!

I was a lil worried about Colleen\'s death scene at first, like if it was believable, but now I feel more reassurred. Glad you enjoyed it!

Aww... that was really cool! I have tears in my eyes. I loved it!! Great symbolism and imagery and all of that good stuff - like I said, very cool! I had a feeling the whole "drowning" part was just a metaphor, but that's what was cool about it. Great job on your first tearjerker! =D

Author's Response: I wanted it to be a tear-jerker, but as I read it and reread it again, I wasn\'t sure if people would take it as that, so I focused more on drama, because that was it mostly was. But I\'m glad that it affected you in a sense I wanted it to. =) Thank you Jules!!

Date: 03/25/08 Title: Chapter 2: A Day in the Life of a Lima Bean

The title of this one attracted my attention, and I thought it was great, Mare! So many of the situations poor Lima had to go through in a single school day are things that I and probably most girls could relate to... dealing with the popular girls... the hot guy who can smile at you and make your whole day even though you know you have no chance with him... the fear that you're gonna bleed through your pants before you can take care of it, or that you smell cause you're sweating so bad LOL. What a nice little nostalgia trip back to high school there. =P

The end, though... wow. I wasn't expecting it to end that way. I thought it was really sad, but I liked it because it was deep, and it was unexpected. Fantastic job!!

Author's Response: Aww thanks julie! I do tend to turn this into a larger piece at one point. I'm glad she seeemd realistic, Lima made me revisit my old high school days. lol

Wow!! This story is intense! I love it!! I bookmarked this the other day to read when I had more time, and I'm so glad I did because I am totally hooked! What a cool idea for a story!

Since this is a challenge story, I know you don't normally write visuals and probably are one of those people who doesn't even like Leighanne, but I have to say, you did a great job with this! I'm not really into visuals, and some details were a little TMI (which I'm sure you were going for LOL), but overall, I actually really liked it! I think you captured the sweetness of Brian and Leighanne's relationship perfectly. Nice job!!
