If you asked anyone I know about my most basic information, they will tell you several things. First, that my name is Nickolas Gene Carter. Second, I am a Backstreet Boy.
What they would not tell you is that I claim I’m allergic to red dye number 40 and that I’m afraid of cats. They wouldn’t tell you that my favorite book is a collection of poems from an author nobody's ever heard of. And they wouldn't tell you that I wear a rubber band around my wrist everyday to cope with stress.
But they’d be wrong about a lot of the basics that they would tell you. Things like my birthday being January 28, 1980. Or, that my favorite food is pizza. Or that my favorite color is green.
Even AJ, Brian, Howie and Kevin – the people closest to me in the world – would answer some of these questions incorrectly. Because there are some things that nobody knows about me.
There are some things that I've never told them, or anyone else, things that even if they knew they would never believe or understand.
Some of it even I don't understand. Like how it all started, or where I came from, or even who or what I really am. I mean, technically I can't be human. All I know is that I can see time. Like literally, I see it, and I live apart from it, independent of its effects. I also can't die. At least I don't think so...

Loving this whole story BUT... as a Kentuckian I gotta say, when you girls write about Kentucky you've gotta stop thinking we are hobokin hickvilli-ians! Lol. Really. Tates Creek is in Lexington and I promise you that Lexington is FAR from countrified :P

Tates Creek actually has a huge Football Stadium that holds 4,000 people and indoor restrooms -- no portapotties -- I promise :O)

Even though I graduated from Lexington Catholic... one of the huge rivals.

Hehe -- Anyway though really, I LOVE this story so far! So totally worth reading!!

Author's Response: LOL I actually looked that up after publishing the story and saw that. The entire location was actually based on the local high school HERE and I had meant to put a disclaimer on the bottom of the story about that. I was originally going to set it here, but where the Boys had already been in NH early on in the story, I didn't think they'd come back for a high school thing. Plus I needed a reason for Kevin to be there, so Brian's high school won. Sorry!! lol I'll stick the disclaimer in there now. ;) Glad you're enjoying the story anyways!

LOVE IT! I know I'm so far behind everyone else, but I'm catching up still... and I just loved how this chapter was written - totally believable and definitely not over the top. Love that you didn't have them go from kissing to "canoodling" (hehe) in the same night, but that you're taking it a little slower. This was just such a sweet way for the two of them to come together!

Again, I'm glad you gave this story a try and got into it. :) I know you're a romance girl, so I especially appreciate your comments on this chapter. I do like romance, but I feel awkward writing it at times, so I never know how it's going to turn out. I'm glad you thought it was believable and sweet. :) I wasn't even totally sure the story was going to go in this direction, and I told myself I was only gonna go there if I felt like the characters had the right chemistry for it. Even though Cary's had a crush on Nick developing basically the whole story, I wasn't sure how he felt about her, and I knew she would never be the first to make a move because of the awkwardness of it all, so I had to wait to see if he would LOL. It didn't seem like the right place for them to go right to "canoodling" LOL, but stay tuned... hehe. Thanks again!!

I read this in one sitting and it was really cute! Good job :) I was so worried the whole time that you were going to have everyone fall in love with Ben (I can't do the whole Bentley, Lexus, Mercedes name trend... lol!) and then he wasn't going to end up being Nick's at all. I'm glad you ended it with everyone in a great place!

I will say that everytime you had them go through the "Ben, Benny, Bentley" thing all I could think of was "How to Lose a Guy" when Kate Hudson does that to Matthew McConaughottie!
