Summary: Past Featured Story

The year was 2012 and the world was at war yet again, but for most of us, the fight seemed far from home. We were just ordinary people living our lives in the southeastern United States, and we had other priorities: families... careers... dreams.

But everything changed that day, the day on which Earth became Hell, the catalyst for a rapid chain of events which would bring us together, while destroying the human race. After that, it was just us: ten strangers against the world, a world utterly different from the one we had known... and it was up to us to save it.

Kayleigh... :( Great twist and chapter. How sad. Interesting about Brian's faith waxing and waning, I think all Christians have their doubts at some point in their walk with God, I know I do. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thanks! I do think even the most devout Christians might question their faith if they were put through what he has been. But when it came down to it, praying was the only thing he could do for Kayleigh, so he did what he knew to do. Glad you liked the chapter - thanks for the review!

I have kind of a one-track mind; I wrote like crazy on this story in October and neglected CC, and then I did the opposite for the rest of the year. It's hard to write both at the same time! Um - YES! :) LOL we were just talking about this today, how Brian is now the only Backstreet Boy we haven't tortured physically yet... though the emotional torture might be plenty. How did I not see that this was updated? Great chapter. At least Kevin's not dead (yet)... It's sad to read Riley's thoughts, her thinking that Jo is still alive. :( But I have doubts that things are going to be "alright"...on to the next chapter.
