I'm really liking the little interludes. They really add an element to the story that would be otherwise lost. I like the cop already for noticing the rope around Nicks wrists.
Author's Response: Thanks, Emily that's really great to hear because I'm kind of on the fence about the interludes lol I know I need them, I am just hoping I'm not breaking the flow of the story.
Well, I loved the Nowie cuddle. Something I think you did really well in this chapter was making the two of them (particularly Nick) seem a little "child-like." I'm not sure if you meant to or not, but it shows their innocence in such a dire situation-- kind of tugs on the heart strings, if you will.
Author's Response: I kind of think Nick tends to revert back to being a kid when he's around the guys and in this case where he's just so ill, I could see him really just becoming that little guy who needs his big brothers to take care of him. I have always thought they all have that kind of naivety about them, especially these two. I wanted some heart strings pulled in this chapter so thank you! LOL And who could resist a little Nick and Howie cuddling? Howie is always so anti cuddling it was fun to put him in that situation. Thanks, Emily!

Have I mentioned how much I love Kevin? I worry about Kevin trying to overtake him and not being able to, and hurting himself further somehow. Oh, and I love this line "No you don't. This was incredibly stupid." ha!

I love these two together, and since we know Kevin's with Nick, I'm dying for a Kick scene! Perhaps that's inappropriate terminology...

Well, I did manage to skim over these chapters on my phone while on vacation, but now I'm re-reading and catching up with reviews. I still really like the interludes that give a look into what's going on on the other side, so to speak. I like that this one gives a little more info on Tim in that there basically is no more info on him. Makes him even more creepy.

Oh, I don't like Nick being alone with Tim again. And I loved this line. "Nothing like a nice, strong crazy person." ha! I think it's lines like this that make you better at writing this kind of story than most. Breaking up the intensity with the little humorous one-liners makes the intense parts even more intense!

I love the uplifting tone of the last line here. I know we're not there yet, but a little glimpse of them getting out of this is nice!

Oh man, nice! When I saw the chapter title, I kind of envisioned it ending like this, but my heart still started beating a little faster at the end. I loved the "mood music" song choice. Oh, and also "She was my girlfriend. I married her after she died," brought it to a whole new level of messed up. Nicely done!

So chilling- the image of Tim carrying Nick and limp and lifeless back into the house, and Kevin saying "No..no..no..." I could almost literally see all of that happening. And go Howie! You can take him!
