Dang it, Kevin! Forget about the threats! You should have pulled the frickin' trigger MUCH sooner than that. Somehow, I doubt it's Kevin dragging Nick out of the room with one arm, though I hope I'm wrong about that one. This was a really big chapter. My first thought was, "Well, of course Howie ran out of gas!" That's just how things are going for him in this story. :( I really loved the Kevin scene, and all of his thoughts. Did he kiss the baby on the forehead the last time he saw him, etc. Really moving.

I'm sure you will be shocked to hear that I laughed so hard at the fact that Tim brought her milk in a saucer and then thought she must have been a vampire cat! Ha! Seriously, though, Tim is one of the most well-developed villain characters I've ever read. Excited to see an update tomorrow if your Internet cooperates!
Author's Response: I enjoyed writing about the vampire cat. Thought it would be nice to throw a little bit of dark humor in there. Thanks for the compliment! :O) Hopefully my internet will behave. I'm a little scared to shut my modem off tonight. lol
I got a little behind with reading this weekend, but again, I like the interludes. They make it seem a little more "crime drama," if that makes sense. This is all wrapping up nicely, though I wonder if you have another few tricks up your sleeve in the next three chapters...

Sad face :( I hope you're able to get the next chapter finished soon after the mean cliffie, but who am I to say that? I haven't updated in two weeks. Haha. I really loved this chapter and how you brought it full circle with the summary. I also liked how they sort of changed places in that the two that were trapped were Brian and AJ in the beginning, now they are Kevin and Howie, etc. You write their emotions so well. I'll be sad to see this one go.

LOL I always knew I was going to bring the summary back at the end with different results then what everyone had initially thought at the start. I'm going to assume that this last letter is for Nick. I'm really "on the edge of my seat" to find out his fate. As for this chapter, I'm glad you gave Tim a bit of a resolution and that he is getting better. Like I said before, he is one of the most well-written villains I've ever read, and I think a part of that is that you made the reader feel sympathy for him. I like that Kevin was the one who came to see him. It seemed appropriate somehow. The most heartbreaking part of this chapter for me, though, was Kevin's limp. For me, the biggest question that is left to answer is not just the fate of Nick, but of the group as a whole after this big ordeal. What are they doing a year later? Excited to find out!
Author's Response: I really felt like this was as much of his story as the guys so it was important for me to make him likable but at the same time not. It's been fun seeing everyone's opinions on him. I'm in the midst of writing the last chapter now. If I can finish it today I might post it tonight or tomorrow and you will then get to see how everyone is doing one year later. Thanks, Emily! :O)
Well you wrapped that up nicely with a big, pretty bow on top! There are so many stories out there that just end where the action ends, and readers are left wondering what happened to their favorite characters. I like how you delved into how each of them handled what they'd been through, and I thought it all seemed pretty true to character (except Howie and Leigh separating- that made me so sad, but yay that they got back together!). Congrats on another job well done!
Author's Response: And nobody died! I felt like this one needed that one year later update. And like I said below, I felt like I had to have at least one of their marriages suffer and it seemed like Howie would be the perfect one. I knew they would get back together though. Thanks for your constant feedback throughout as well. I see you updated Run! I am going to try to read it on Friday. I have SO much school work to do. End of quarter is coming up and I have over 500 grades to post. :O/ Didn't want you to think I was ignoring your story. Thanks again, Emily!!
Well, I'm pretty disappointed that the batteries didn't un=pause everything-- I need more Brian and Nick!
