I know exactly what you mean about seeing it in your head like a movie and it just pops onto the screen in word format. I used to have it, so I can envy you that you have it and are doing such a fabulous job :)
I love Brian. Have I said that before? I just love him so much in this story, and how serene he is about dying makes me want to cry. *sigh* Amanda ("whorebitch" in my head lol) better tell Nick ASAP. ASAP.

Author's Response: It's a curse and a blessing having it in movie format...a blessing cos I can actually write it quickly and a curse because I never feel like I convey what I'm seeing right! Brian's serenity in the face of death is something that I envy about the character, that I wish I had in my own heart. I wish I was that assured in my own faith that I wouldn't fear death. It's a peaceful thing.
Ok. You win. I'm okay with Amanda again. Nick's explosive words made me think she'd gotten what she deserved. Now I guess we'll have to wait and see how Brian gets Nick and Amanda back together again :)
Poor Nick. *sniff* Gosh, you are good at these emotional scenes. *sniff sniff* Keep 'em coming!
my dread is growing. i'm so NOT looking forward to when Brian dies. you could make it easier on all of us if he magically went into remission, you know :P
anyway, i don't know what else to say about this chapter except that Leighanne was really nice, and I hope Nick doesn't stay angry and angsty. He should enjoy the time he has left with Brian.

Author's Response: Hahaha... I'm telling you, I see it in my mind and I have to write it or I'll lose it and I won't be able to write it. I get like this. I'll go on intense writing spurts, then suddenly *poof* the spark goes out and I can't write for months. This story has just come so easily. It's been therapeutic, too, writing it. It's been helping me deal with some stuff as well. In a way I feel like I'm going through it all with Brian, Nick and Amanda. :) Thanks for the reviews!
Oh lord. Please don't let him die on stage in front of his fans. It would fit Brian very well to go doing something he loves, but OMG NO. I'm on pins and needles waiting for the ending! I have a feeling we'll get it tonight if your magic muse keeps going :)
Seeing the byline makes me want to punch Tobias Winterson. I can't wait until Amanda's article comes out and she destroys her dad, Tobias, and their stupid Pop Stuff Online.

I'm torn between crying and laughing, and I think it's a pretty good bet that, were this story true and this stuff happened, Brian would want that. He'd want you to laugh even if you wanted to cry that he was dying.

I had to walk away from this twice before I could actually write a review. THAT'S how torn up I am at the ending.
In all my time of reading fanfiction, there has only ever been one other story that made me feel so full of emotions and sadness and made a part of my brain think that it all really happened, and that was Finding Brotherhood by Mersey. But YOU. You have succeeded in doing the same thing, which I thought would be impossible for anyone else. But, no, you've done it. You've gone and cranked out a story that reached way deep inside me and made so many of us cry. I think it's a weird happy crying in a way because Brian went so happily. He said goodbye to his fans, then his friends, and then his family. He went as he wanted to go, and I think real-life Brian would probably understand that. I don't know how you knew that, but you did, and you're awesome.
Plus, you described that picture so well, it's like I can see it in my head. Congrats on that :)
I'm glad I came back to the fandom for this story because it has so been worth it. Thank you for writing this amazing epic of a story. Now go pamper those amazing fingers of yours!

You know your feedback means a lot to me. :) Glad you like Cary; I never know how female leads are going to go over, so I was worried about starting this one in her POV. It's going to switch to Nick's POV in the next chapter and then switch back and forth, so you get both sides of the story. Nick seems different in a good or bad way? OMG Holy Essay of an Author's Note Batman! lol
JK, you know I'd read anything of yours no matter who was sick and dying, even though it's usually Nick. And, yes, for a bit there when Nick was getting biopsied, I totally remembered BOOP for some weird reason. However, that doesn't mean that I'm comparing CC to Broken/BMS. They're both (all three?) such awesome stories that just so happen to involve Nick and cancer. (Wouldn't it be a hilarious spoofy fic if someone wrote about Nick falling for a girl named Cancer since "she" seems to show up in so many angsty Nick stories? lol)
Anyway, my point is, this story rocks separately from Broken. It stands on its own and I have a feeling it's going to be a little less twisted and dramatic than the Nick/Claire saga. At least, I hope it is? Who knows with you, right?

Author's Response: LMAO surprisingly, I've written longer! I almost made it its own chapter, but I didn't wanna get off on the numbering - you know how anal I am.
You know, I used to write mainly stories where it was Brian who was sick and dying, but I kinda got off that hobby and moved on to Nick instead. He's fun to torture! =D LOL BOOP... oh BOOP. LMFAO I love your spoof idea! Rose and I were just saying last night we need to write a story where Nick gets tortured in every way imaginable but never actually dies, yet Kevin gets killed off in like Chapter 2.
Anyway, thank you!! I'm glad this story stands alone, whether you've read Broken or not. And I hope it will be less twisted and dramatic too! I've warned Rose to tell me if it gets to be too dangerously cheesy like Broken got at times, and you can help me with that too if you'd like LOL. Thank you for your essay review! =D

I always loved how, in BMS and Broken, you always were so descriptive about the medical procedures which makes the whole story that much better. This time, it's no different! I like that you went back in time to show Nick's timeline of events that paralleled what Cary was up to in the first couple chapters. I'm excited to see what happens when their conversation about him being sick continues!

Author's Response: Aww, thanks! LOL Pengi posted four chapters between when I last checked and when I came back and got caught up a little while ago. I'm feeling good just to get a chapter a day done! Thanks for that - I always worry no one really cares to read about that stuff and that it's boring, but if I've researched enough to be able to write about it in detail, then I wanna write about it in detail. I'm glad you like it! And thanks for offering to be my cheerleader when my muse finally decides to take a break... hopefully he won't anytime soon, but I so appreciate the feedback and support! How is it that, in every story, Brian seems to know that something's not quite right? I wonder if, in real life, he's super detective that way, too. lol Sniffing out whatever's wrong at top speeds :P

Author's Response: LMAO I know, right? I'm gonna go with, it's the best friend super sixth sense! Of the three, Howie always seems kind of naive and clueless, and AJ's kind of obsessed with Rochelle, so I would think Brian would be the most likely to notice if something was up. Of course, if Kevin was there, he would totally know, cause he's Kevin! Right?! LOL You would be right about the next chapter... I'll probably post that tomorrow. Thanks, Sarah! :)
