I'm sorry, it must be the romantic sap in me, but I'm dying for Gretchen and Brian to get together. You know, help each other through the pain lol Must be the sap.
Anyway, awesome chapter! It's even better now that I've watched Zombieland and can appreciate this story even more! Just a question, though, why don't they try getting in one of those big military trucks, load everything up, and try going out to find what else is out there? You know, move out of the base? I guess they just don't want to leave the safety of the base...which is not so safe, but safer than the rest of the world.

Author's Response: Aww... well, I can appreciate the sappiness! ;) And good question... hold that thought for a few more chapters. ;) But yeah, they finally got the base (mostly) cleared out, so they're taking advantage of their relative safety for now. Author's Response: Thanks, Sarah!! We've had this planned for quite awhile, but we were hoping it would be shocking to the readers. We just didn't want our characters getting too comfortable, now that they think they're all immune to the zombie virus. The zombies may not be able to infect them with their bite, but they can still eat their braaaains! They're still a threat. But yes, Brian's crisis of faith is starting to resolve, so good news for him. Glad you enjoyed the chapter! It was fun to write!

Author's Response: Well, zombies don't feel pain and don't need to breathe, so what would a hurricane do? They can't drown. They could be blown away, but then they'd just keep wandering around wherever they were dropped off, even in the sea. Some of them may have been crushed by debris, but even hurricanes probably wouldn't take out the majority. They aren't invincible, but the only things that will kill them are decomposition (eventually) or a blow to the brain. I'm glad you're getting caught up; thanks for the review(s)!
