I'm a single mother of two beautiful children. And as you can see, my stories are of Nick Carter/Backstreet Boys. Yes, I have an infatuation with Nick, lol. I love to read fan fic about him and the other Boys but mostly Nick stories. I'm still fairly new at the whole authur business and am still learning. But I am looking forward to posting new things that may pop into my mind. I seem to do better with short stories and have just recently posted my first long story. We'll see how that goes. I am not usually a cliffie kind of girl...but if I didn't seperate this chapter and the next chapter it would have been WAY too much. Plus, I think having Jake pop out of nowhere at the end like that was good...and it is giving you guys a chance to run through some what ifs. Jake has been popping into converstations/columns throughout a lot of this story, especially recently...there is a lot more to come so stay tuned!

Finally!!! We are getting somewhere with Quinn..the dumbass. I got the same butterflies as Nick gets opening each new chapter of this story..lol. Another great one..and can't wait for the next!!

Author's Response: YAY, that makes me feel so good that you get excited when Casual is updated, I know the feeling you are talkign about, I love to read and I get that same feeling when one of my favorites is updated. Nick is insecure and he has issues with commitment, I have alluded to it throughout the story but they haven't really surfaced until now because Quinn has kept him at arm's length in many ways, indulging him in only certain things about herself. Now that things are more transparent for both of them, these things are surfacing and they are going to create problems for them. Thanks for reading and reviewing, more to come!!!
I also forgot to mention I loved how you wrote one of Nick's MS vids into the chapter (and the particular one you chose.. <3!!)...nice use of real events in the story. I always love when stories include real live events. Makes the story more "real"....

Wow...I never really thought of it that way...that she would be scared of being that close to someone and then they pass away and leave her alone. But then again, I've always believed in that qliche addage "It's better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all". That kind of love, Nick is right, its rare, the kind most people today don't experience. Today's relationships are disposable...only in it until things get rough..then its time to move on..or when someone else that catches our eye.
I hope that Quinn can see past the things she is scared of the most and see that she should snatch up what she has with Nick and hold onto it for dear life...and enjoy the ride for a long as it may last. And Nick, I pray he sees in her his future and all that comes with it in family and love...that's SHE'S the one worth marriage, worth that risk, worth conquering that fear of that next step.
Great chapter! I loved it and can't wait till the next. We are getting into the heart of things now and I'm really enjoying the ride. Great Job!!!

Quinn is still very wounded by losing her mom and watching her dad live without her mom, it has impacted her in a major way! So she is justifiably terrified, a lot of people who have experienced a great loss in their life have commitment issues. They are both scared, Nick has his own issues, but here, he is trying to be strong and be there for her. Will he be able to stay strong and disregard his own issues? We shall see!

I actually screamed OMG! and squealed like a schoolgirl when I saw this updated! And I had NO idea it was updated during the "great AC blackout". This has always been one of my favorite stories and I'm soooo soooo happy you are updating it again...but sad to know we are almost at the end :( Great job with Nick explaining all of his demons and I'm so happy Quinn took them in stride. And you wouldn't BELIEVE the goofyass grin that came on my face when she FINALLY told him she loved him!!! That made me so happy!!! Great job and I can't wait to read the ending! Any chances at a sequel!??
Ha! Yes...the great AC blackout...and of course, my rare update happened then! I'm so glad you liked it. I had the same grin when I was writing that Quinn loved him. I typed it and I looked at my screen and realized it had to be there - I hadn't planned it!
I am not sure if there will be a sequel but I do have the plot for one in my mind. Casual will end with the door open for one, that is for sure!!!
