I was gonna do it after I wrapped up a few others... lol It's been on my back burner for awhile. Honestly, now that we've talked about it, I'll probably do it after I finish Bodyguard (which I should be wrapping up this weekend). You guys got me excited to work on this storyline. This side of Brian has always been intriguing to me... lol My prewriting was to the point that I've completed a prologue and a general story outline and even have the banner made... (http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee317/hanbonline/Openheartcover.jpg). Soooo I'm reading old articles/watching old clips to get into a 1998 mindset and I'll probably be working on it starting next week.

I love it when there's a literal excited feeling to start working on a new story project like this...

Oh gosh, now I can't really wait! *__*

If any of you write that kind of story, I would read it!

Brian's heart condition was a popular storyline back in the old days of BSB fanfic, 1998-2000ish.  I read quite a few stories about that, but they weren't usually about his heart surgery specifically or the way it impacted BSB.  There is one I really liked called "Heart of the Matter," but I have to warn you, this is the only place I can still find it online, and it's not complete there: http://www.angelfire.com/ga/bsbbabes/heartindex.html  I think that's MOST of the story, but not the whole thing. :(

This is another old one that is still online in its completed form and explores the relationship between Nick and Brian after his surgery: http://www.angelfire.com/ny2/dreamcastle/secret.htm

If you just want a good Brian heart problem story, this is an old favorite of mine: http://www.dreamers-sanctuary.com/hosted/cardio.html  It's not about his real heart surgery specifically; it takes it further than that.  Tearjerker!!

As I said, I read all those stories. Actually, "Cardio" has been I think the first I've read. :D And I'm sad that "Heart of matter" isn't updated no more, though it isn't from Brian's pov.
I think that those stories aren't focused on the angst part because at that time the authors were young. "Secrets" isn't really what I'm thinking when I think of "how their relationship changed after the operation".M it's a good story but I think that Nick was portrayed too much younger and childish. And, really, it turned to be a Nick drama instead than a Brian\Nick story. lol But that is IMHO. :D

RokofAges75: thank you for the links, I really like these 3 fanfics, but my favourite is undoubtedly nothing is a chance.

Pengi: I really look forward to reading your new fanfic, thank you to write a fanfic about it!

Usako: I do not like cardio, because I find it too sad

Even if it's sad, I love cardio. *and still I cry over it.*

LOL I have a memory of reading the end of Cardio the same day I got contacts and wondering if it was a bad thing to cry so much with them in; I was worried I was going to wash them right out!

As I already said in the review, you're my hero!  ;D

Maybe you have already read it, but here is Brian's part on Larry King's heart about Heart Diseases. And I have saved on my pc his interview with Larry King if you want it.  :)

Would it be possible to have you either DM me or email me a copy? I'll add you to the thank you list on the story notes that I've got going :) Or at least a link I could find these materials?

I feel like I've watched and read soooo many old school interviews in the last week working on this story, it's nuts. LOL :)
