I actually joined the fanfic and the Succession reddits as well as the writers and reading ones lol I even post on them from time to time, but I guess there's just so much on there, it gets overwhelming.

What I really wish is that AO3 had a message board like this one. A place where people can go to actually talk about fanfic and all the genres. I have been tempted to mention this place on twitter to the succession writers, most of whom I actually don't read because they're all smut and romance and most of which don't really even chat with me that much because it's just a different world now, I guess. But I never do mention it because I feel like this place just kind of belongs to BSB and our old site, even though it's all but extinct.

Yeah, not sure what the purpose of giving kudos to something you haven't read does. From seeing posts of these Succession people, I know people tend to search sometimes based how many bookmarks or kudos a story has, so maybe that's why people do it? So this way more people may be inclined to click on something they might not have otherwise?

I always click on the kudos givers mainly because for a really long time I wasn't getting any comments and that was the only way I could figure out who was reading my stuff lol But again, kudos isn't really a great barometer of that because you can only give a story one. I like to try to figure out which chapter they finally gave in and said OKAY now I'll give this story some love! Because I will get kudos all throughout a story as I'm going. I also get random comments in Spanish that I either have Maria translate or I have to look up myself.

God bless Steph! I miss some of my regular readers. The ones you can always count on, like Tracey and Steph. It's been so long since I've been part of this writing world. It's nice.

Aww I don't remember you ever writing a lame suspense.

Oh my God, they are treating the eclipse like it's the second coming of Christ here. They keep talking about how everyone needs to stay at home and don't go anywhere. They think like a million people are going to overrun this city. It's kind of funny. They even have a countdown clock at the corner of every channel when the news is on!

The tipping thing seems confusing with these places. it's the same with the cruise. The whole tipping thing. I think it's just added on every day, and they give us a bill at the end. Also, with the cruise the packages thing. I don't think we're doing any of that. It's good drinks are included in yours. I would very much love to just lie around and do nothing, but you're right. How often does one get to travel to Mexico? Might as well see the sights. Are there excursions available? I hope you get to spend a lot of time with the guys. Hopefully if it goes well, they'll consider doing something like this more often.

I can't get into Threads. The lack of organization drives me nuts. Reddit is big but organized, once you figure it out. The key is to join the subreddits you want to follow, like r/FanFiction or r/Succession, and then you just see posts from those groups.  You can adjust your home feed settings to only show posts from the groups you follow or give you recommended posts as well, which can introduce you to other groups that may be interesting.  I joined originally for writing and fanfic-related discussion, but it's also good for discussion of books, TV shows, hobbies, and more.  It's been really helpful for research for the series I'm writing now too.

I'm sure I'll write another suspense one of these days.  I had sworn off writing that genre for a long time because my attempts at it back in the day were so lame, but I wrote one a few years ago that I'm pretty proud of.  I would absolutely write another one.  I'll probably be ready for some more dark and deranged stuff after the romance I'm writing now LOL.

Ahh, I love the progression from kidnapper to full blown serial killer!  Carving MINE as a calling card is an awesome touch!

I haven't found that as much with my commenters, but to be honest, I really only have three regulars - Steph, Mistral, and this girl Naveena who is a BSB fan.  I don't always click on accounts who leave kudos to see what fandoms they write for, though.  Rose and I did get a really nice comment on Song for the Undead once from someone who wasn't a BSB fan.  I asked them how they found our story, but they didn't reply.  I also had someone from the RPF group on Reddit kudo every once of my fics without reading them, which I have mixed feelings about.  I guess it's the thought that counts, but kudos from someone who I know never actually read my work are just as meaningless as the bot ones.  There do seem to be a lot of people who care more about specific tropes and kinks than fandom, though.  I see a lot of people on Reddit that are willing to read fics fandom-blind if they have the kind of stuff they're looking for.  That could be how they're finding your stories.  I am picky like you, so I don't really get it either, but it's nice that some people are open to anything LOL.

Oh, that's neat that they get a day off for the eclipse!  That is our first day back from break... yay!  We just had a meeting about it after school today.  The district is providing everyone with eclipse glasses, so we will go out and view it.

From what I've read, it is truly all-inclusive as far as food and drinks go, but apparently you're supposed to tip.  Everyone I know who has done an all-inclusive in Mexico has said it's their favorite way to vacation, but I'm not usually a lie-around-the-pool-and-do-nothing-all-day kind of girl.  I lie around and do nothing at home, but when I travel, I want to see the sights and do stuff!  So we'll see.  If nothing else, it will be nice to go somewhere warm for a few days, see people I don't get to see very often, and see the Boys.

I'm still trying to figure out Reddit. LOL There are so many different categories on there, but it's also all over the place. Kind of like Threads, which I also don't understand.

I hope you do decide to write a suspense! I'm not sure why that whole genre seemed to disappear. Clearly, we can't be the only people who enjoy torturing the ones we love.

So, my attacker from It Stays has kind of moved on from just keeping people hostage in hotel rooms, to full blown serial killer. When he attacked Brian and Nick, he was just kind of figuring things out, now he's a pro. I have him carve MINE on his victims as his calling card. LOL And the thing I find interesting, and I don't know if you've encountered this too, but whenever someone leaves me a comment or kudos, I always go onto their page and a really big portion of them aren't even in the actual Succession fandom. Most of them write in other ones or follow other ones. I find that so strange. Probably because I'm so picky, but I don't think I would be the least bit interested in reading a fanfic unless I'm really into the person or show. A lot of people don't search by show though, they search by tags. I mean, for this serial killer one, the characters or so OOC that it wouldn't matter, but for the rest, it would kind of be like starting a book series in the middle.

YAY! It's always fun to know vacation is only a few days away. These kids also have the Monday after Easter off because of the eclipse. Since we are one of the best places to see it from, all the schools and businesses will be closed.

I'm glad you're getting to fly with friends. You'll have to let me know how the all-inclusive experience is. If it's truly all-inclusive or not. Before deciding on the cruise, my sister and I briefly toyed with the idea of going to Mexico for an all-inclusive vacation, but the thought of flying anywhere these days is so off putting. I'm sure you'll be able to find each other. Just put on your BSB radar.

Well, when I say "wrote," I mean I was in front of the computer with my story open during that window of time, some of which was spent actually writing and some of which was spent watching YouTube or scrolling through Reddit LOL.  I am easily distracted on days when I feel like I have endless time and more focused during my weekday morning writing sessions when I know I only have about 20 minutes to write.

Good luck trying to get the Succession fandom into suspense! All fandoms could use more suspense. The BSB fandom is seriously lacking in it lately too. Maybe I'll try another suspense when I'm done with my current series. It would be a nice change of pace. I have a few ideas that have potential.

I love that you used your attacker from It Stays With You!  Do you have him making any Succession characters carve words into each other's skin?  You're like Stephen King with your own little fanfic crossover universe!  Love to hear that you have some loyal readers, too!  That's great!

My spring break starts this Friday, and then I'm off all next week.  Our spring break is almost always tied to Easter, but we've had the odd year when it was a different week and then we still got a four-day weekend for Easter.  That's the best!

I'm actually not rooming with Rose; I'm rooming with my friend Liane, who lives in the Chicago area.  We are flying together along with Laureen, who is rooming separately with another friend of hers.  I have never done the all-inclusive resort experience before, so I have no idea how big this place is or what to expect.  Hopefully it won't be too hard to find people.

Wow! That's a lot of writing. I'm impressed! The most I'm able to write on any given day is between 30 minutes to an hour sometimes a little more if I'm close to ending something.

I have been writing a lot. I currently have two stories going at the same time and they are both suspense, which I think that's the first time that's ever happened. I'm really trying to get this fandom into suspense. It's one genre they lack. I've finally gotten a few loyal readers now so it's promising. The villain in one of them is probably my favorite one I've ever created.  I took my attacker from It Stays with You and given him a whole story! Since he was just there but not really there in that one. So, between him from It stays and Howie and Kevin from my Protect and Serve, BSB are still represented.

Are you on spring break now? Or do you have it off next week?

I think the kids here have off next week but also this Friday which is crazy because they literally just had their winter break two weeks ago. We never had that many breaks in PA. Never a winter or spring break and only three days off for Easter.

Are you guys all flying in together to Cancun or are you all just going to meet there? I'm assuming your rooming with Rose.

Same!  Well, "morning" as in whatever time I wake up, which is later on weekends and in the summer LOL.  Today, I wrote from like 11 am to 4 pm.  Then I stopped to get groceries and do laundry, and now I'm trying to get a little more written before my show comes on.  It's always harder to get the momentum going again after I take a break.

It looks like you've been writing a lot lately!  A lot of updates!  I'm so thrilled for you that you've rediscovered your passion for writing and found a new fandom you love.

Yep, less than a month until Cancun!  I'm almost ready.  Got the important stuff taken care of - passport and plane tickets - and just working on the packing list and outfits now.  I'm glad I have spring break between now and then.

Pretty much the same. Trying to write and read every day. This time of day is when I find it easiest to write. (Morning) Your Cancun trip is coming up soon, correct? Are you all ready for that?

Hi! I'm doing well. It's been a busy month, but I'm relaxing and catching up on sleep (and writing!) this weekend. How about you?

Thanks! It was nice to see so many comments from you and a kudo, too!  I didn't even realize you had been leaving feedback as a guest and not your actual account LOL.  Yes, a lot of us panic-posted stuff there when AC was being so glitchy, we thought it wasn't long for this world.  The main site is basically useless from a writing standpoint now that you can't post anything, but I'm glad the stories and reviews are still there.

Yes I'm glad the stories are still here, nice to look back at them :)
