You're welcome. You still might want to put a disclaimer on the story though and let everyone know if they contribute on the same day they post two updates it will be considered spamming.

We will do that.  I don't want anyone else to feel humiliated and regret participating.

Rose, go add it to the rules, will ya? :P

This is probably a post for a different thread, but since it relates to the conversation.. .

Maybe there should be a warning for breaking rules before a ban goes into effect.  Break a rule once, and you get a warning.  Break it twice, and THEN you're banned.

I know the rules are right there on the site when you go to post a chapter, but the rules there don't list consequences the way the rules in the thread on this forum do, and the spamming rule does not clearly lay out that if you update more than two stories in a 24-hr period, you will be banned.  It just says "Post an update or two at a time, but please don't post your whole backlog of fics all at once. We look forward to reading them all, but pace yourself!"  Yes, it says one or two, but the way that it's written, with the "please," doesn't exactly set it in stone that you're absolutely not allowed to post three.

Some more clarity, or at least consistency between what's posted here and what's posted there, would be nice.  Those of us who have been coming to the site for years and are regulars on the forum should be totally clear on these rules by now, but those who only post on the site and don't come to the forum may not be, and I think they deserve to be informed and warned of an infraction before being banned and publicly called out for a first offense.

Been there done that. The thing is on the actual site in the news section's very first post, it CLEARLY states that there are rules and consequences to those rules now posted at the forum with a link that goes along with it. We were giving warnings and letting things slide and no one seemed to care which is why for a looong time we kept counting down to when those warnings would stop. It's an obvious thing that when you join a site or a forum they have rules and it's your obligation to take a minute and read them. If you don't it's no one's fault but your own. Whether you've been on the site for ten years or ten minutes.

Just like any other moderated site, you start making exceptions for one you have to do it for everyone.

Yes ma'am LOL. I'm trying to word it so it doesn't sound discouraging or confusing.

Ok, so how can I delete all my stories off your site since my account is locked?

I read the rules when I first joined the website what, a year ago? And this was my first offence on a story that you all just now hashed out a back up plan. I hadn't posted on the forums or the site for months, and as soon as I got the email from you, I refreshed my memory on the rules.

I understand one bad apple ruins the whole bunch, but seriously? no wiggle room whatsoever?

I would just rather delete my stories and find someplace else to host them then have to deal with the iron fist for a first offender.

Just say remember the day you post your chapter counts as an update.

Do you want me to be the bad guy? LOL I will. Obviouly i'm pretty good at that on occasion. :)

I'm talking about right here, though:
http://absolutechaos.net/stories.php?action=newstory

Those are the rules you see when you go to post a new story or add a chapter.

They are only a bare-bones version of what is posted here on the forum, which is what is being enforced:
http://absolutechaos.net/fictalk/index.php/topic,2168.0.html

Can't you, Ash, or Julilly just revise the rules on the site so that they're the same as what's posted here, which everyone's expected to follow?  By just including the link in a news post, you're giving users three separate places to look for information on the rules.  I can see how that's confusing for new users to the site.  I just think it would simplify things to have the exact same information posted everywhere, so we're all on the same page and no one feels blindsided.

I need to start making a list of the ways Nick's died so I don't duplicate, unless someone else already has one  ;)

I added a chapter, and I have no problem with the rules, it seems fair to me!

Here's a list of the deaths so far!

Death #1 - cracked his head open on a urinal
Death #2 - crushed by a fallen piano
Death #3 - allergic reaction to anesthesia after being spurred by a platypus
Death #4 - bad reaction to caffeine led to being crushed by the stage platform
Death #5 - hit by a truck
Death #6 - decapitated in an elevator
Death #7 - impaled by a falling chandelier
Death #8 - sliced in half by a sheet of glass
Death #9 - leapt off a balcony while sleepwalking
Death #10 - infected with ebola
Death #11 - shark attack
Death #12 - killed by a llama
Death #13 - impaled by a moose flying through his windshield
Death #14 - impaled by a stake through the eye
Death #15 - fell off a roof while planking
Death #16 - shot in a train robbery
Death #17 - death by Viagra
Death #18 - sliced and diced by a falling tree

Maybe Rose, if she wants to, can post this in her original post of the thread and update as more are added, unless you think it's giving away too many "spoilers" LOL.  I know some people tried to keep it a surprise what the actual death would be at the end.
