Date: 02/11/08 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 11 - Curiosity Killed the Cat

The trading of the pictures and their meeting in general was good, maybe a bit akward, but good.I love how Nick and Alyssa were actually able to dicuss the pictures, it's another thing that shows that they've both matured! I agree with Nick, it's not bad if Alyssa doesn't get pregnant if Sean is sent to Iraq, it would be a lot of responsibility if he didn't come back! Haha... so typical of Nick to lose the schedule and then foolishly ask Shayla to email it from his laptop, where he has the pictures of Alyssa saved! Aww... that was sneaky but sweet of Nick to scan the pictures of Alyssa, it shows that there is still something, but I think we already knew that! Shayla is acting pretty sneaky herself, pretending that she didn't see the pictures until the "knowledge of the pictures become useful", hopefully it doesn't hurt Alyssa's image(she's a teacher!)Enjoy your week of Mel and as always great job, can't wait to see how the info of those pictures turn up again!

Author's Response: Thanks Thia! I'm glad you can appreciate how much more open Alyssa and Nick are with each other this time around. They have both matured a great deal. And of course Nick is right about Alyssa not needing to rush to get pregnant, but Alyssa has gotten so obsessed with the idea of being a mother that it not happening is stressing her out big time and eating away at her relationship with Sean as you'll start to see next chapter. I guess it is a lil dishonest for Nick to keep some of the pictures on his laptop, but it seems like such a guy thing to do and Nick does still have some feelings for her. We'll have to wait and see how long Shayla can hold out on those pictures, but good point at it possibly hurting Alyssa's career.

Wow I don't know how Alyssa can handle the whole dream, cheat or not to cheat situation! There are a lot of reasons why she shouldn't and as she said she's been on both sides of the situation so she knows how much it sucks but I really want her and Nick to get together again, lol! I feel bad for Alyssa having to see everyone having kids whether it be their own or through adoption(congrats to Meg btw) especially since she wants one so bad! Yeah...can't wait for Nick's dinner party and what drama that shall bring, very excited! Will it maybe be the starting point to the great attraction that can lead to an affair(c'mon how long can Nick be celibate?)?? Great update and thanks for updating back to back, makes me very happy!

Author's Response: It REALLY isn't as simple as you may think, huh? I know a lot of readers are like OMG when are they going to hook up, but its still cheating (even if it IS NIck lol) Not to say its NOT going to happen, but I really wanted to make readers aware of the moral implications that are up ahead. I'm an angst chick so I'm REALLY excited about delving into those emotions. About the kid situation I'm really glad that you are sympathetic towards Alyssa's struggle to get pregnant. It will be playing a pretty important role throughout the next few chapters if you haven't already guessed. And the dinner party? We'll have to see what happens, but perhaps you're on the right track lol.

Date: 02/22/08 Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 14 - Wine Me, Dine Me, 69 Me

Wow this was such an awesome chapter, I agrre this might have been one of your best! As soon as Sean started to flirt with Kina I figured that he was just doing it to piss off Alyssa...which it did but I think it was also the guilt that Alyssa felt that made her snap at Sean! OMG the kiss finally happened, I feel that this is what's going to trigger the begining of the affair, yay(I know it's wrong to be happy cause it involves cheating, but c'mon it's Nick and Alyssa and they belong together)!!! Shayla so had to know what was going on down there, that's why she's so mad plus pointing out to Alyssa that her lipstick was smeared(btw and not in the way a friend would do it, hint,hint). But now why is she being so sneaky about this all? She knows about the pics of Alyssa that Nick kept and now about there being something between Alyssa and Nick, but she hasn't exploded...what does she have up her sleeve??? I have a feeling that the condo is going to be "Nick's and Alyssa place" since she has a key as well now...Again this was just such a great chapter, you outdid yourself especially doing it all in a day! Update soon, I'm so anxious to see what happens next!

Thanks Thia! Your review made me just want to squeal because you're pretty much dead on with everything. I'm glad Sean's flirting made sense to you. I was a little unsure about it especially since my beta pointed out that Sean's kind of been characterized as being this "mr. nice guy" image, so why would he flirt with another woman so openly in front of Alyssa? It definitely helped me think more about his reasons and I'm glad that you got it. And the guilt making Alyssa snap? Of course! She knows what she's done and is throughely confused about it especially since her and Nick didn't really talk about it.

The kiss... Yea I know you've all been anxiously awaiting it, so I tried to buil it up as best as I could for you. I kind of loved Shayla's little comments throughout the chapter and the lipstick one was just so clear to me. I could so hear her saying it all coldly, so yea I think she has an idea of what happened in the basement as well lol. I'm also glad though that you notice the way she's suddenly acting and you're suspicious. You have a right to be as you'll find out next chapter. Shayla does in fact have a few tricks up her sleeve.

Mel, i was so excited I thought it was another update, but I'm glad you brought this up. I've been reading some of the reviews people are leaving ALTOS especially on those "scandalous" chapters and all I have to say is they need to get over the whole cheating thing because it's only fiction! We all watch movies and shows where cheating occurs and it's just entertainment! Mel you are an AMAZING writer especially because you don't write the "always happy" fic but because you make it "real" so just write what you want and your true fans will keep reading and supporting! I know people give Dani alot of crap on USA as well but both of your stories are great so keep up the awesome work!

OMG! I refuse to beleive that Shayla is pregnant! She has to be lying! Because we know that would make it 99%impossible for Nick and Alyssa to be together! I think she's just trying to keep Nick with her any way she can because she sees him slipping from her and probably back to Alyssa. I so thought Nick and Alyssa were going to run into eachother at the condo! But then again if they had I think Nick wouldn't have said anything bout the pregnancy to her and something might of happened between them and everything would of just gotten more screwed up between them. It didn't take long for them to realize that they can't be just friends, and it is not just because of the history between them, but because they still love eachother, now I just need to wait for them to figure it out, lol! I don't dislike Sean but it annoyed me how he didn't really want to seek help in getting pregnant. If he really wants a child before being deployed he should be supporting Alyssa with any solutions she finds instead of putting a strain on their relationship due to the pressure that they can't get pregnant! Great update as always Mel and can't wait to see what Shayla is up to!

Author's Response: I won't say if she definitely is or she isn't, but I think that you're reasoning behind her pregnancy is pretty accurate. Isn't it convienent that she's pregnant right after she suspects that Alyssa and Nick have something going on? LOl I admit I did throw Nick running to the condo just to screw with you guys a bit lol (Yea I know I'm mean lol) About Sean I'm not sure if he's being unsupportive or maybe he's just reluctant because he has a bad feeling they might find something wrong?

OMG Mel, what an awesome chapter! Im so glad Nick was going to step up to the plate and take care of his baby with Shayls, too bad there wasnt one...I knew she was lying, she just wanted to trap Nick and as Nick pointed hurt Alyssa along the way. Then when Sean and Alyssa are having this connection...BAM Sean has to go on and ruin it by bringing up a pregnancy...bad idea especially because I beleive one of the reasons they cant get pregnant is because they're stressing about it. I cant wait to see the results to those tests too because I have a feeling that Sean might be the one that cant get Alyssa pregnant..I will have to wait and see...NOW getting to the good part, they finally ended up at the condo together! I have a feeling that something may happen especially since Nick is separating from Shayla...plus he is so turned from seeing Alyssa wet and getting naked...lol! God such a good cliff. Mel, you're evil, lol! Update soon, I will be waiting to see if they finally hook-up or at least make a serious connection!

I really think that it was a huge step for Nick to come around on the baby issue and do the right thing, so finding out that Shayla was only playing him this whole time was REALLY a slap in the face to him. Interesting insight on why Alyssa and Sean can't seem to get pregnant... As for the whole Nick and Alyssa situation, I'm sorry lol I couldn't resist the cliffy! We'll have to see what if anything happens, but Alyssa's fight with Sean earlier had to have left her a little "frustrated" if you know what I mean *winks*

I totally didnt expect Alyssa to walk out before speaking to Nick about what occurred the morning after... the girl she is becoming seems like she would of maybe stuck around to clarify their situation. But then again, if I were in her situation, I probably would of done the exact same thing she did... at least to give herself time to think everything out... plus shes also feeling REALLY guilty, so it might of caused her to say things to Nick that she didnt mean. Now I know Sean loves her and in some way she loves him too, but they just dont have the connection and spark that Alyssa and Nick share... and after feeling it again the other night I dont think Sean and Alyssa are going to be able to salvage their marriage... Great job as always Mel!

Author's Response: Yea Alyssa has changed a lot but I could still see her not being able to help but to freak once it really sunk in what had happened and have the instinct to run. You're right. She DOES need time to sort out her feelings. And yea I think its pretty obvious at this point that her connection w/ Sean is nothing next to what she has with Nick.

Mel! You so got me for most of it! Little sneak...lol! I was like OMG I cant believe this is happening...I could imagine Shayla doing it just to keep Nick attached to her but Alyysa agreeing totally threw me off! I think Nick would so go for it...I know Shayla betrayed and lied to him but c'mon two HOT girls that he was attracted to offering to have a threesome with him...its any guys fantasy including Nick! Good job Mel! Now to the true part of the chapter, I cant believe Sean finally got deployed! The timing sucks just because Alyssa just cheated on him which is going to make her feel even more guilty plus she isnt pregnant with his baby either...but at the same time its going to give her a chance to take time to fix everything with Nick, hopefully! I agree with Sean, that Alyssa is pregnant already but not with his baby but Nick's! Cant wait to see if my prediction is correct... Great work!

Im am so for team Alyssa no matter what Angel says! Alyssa is not selfish, I mean we all know that the reason she wanted to tell Sean that the babywas his was because she is married to him and thought she loved him! But now that she knows that she loves Nick, shes willing to take the risk of disowned and whatnot to be together!I love Nick to death but he on the otherhand is still with Shyala just because thats gonna be his comfort if it doesnt work out with Alyssa. I thinks its time that he leaves her, in a way itll show Alyssa that hes fully committed into giving them a chance! Yes Nick and Alyssa must have the talk asap! Im glad that Alyssa finally made up with her sister! Its about time that they leave it in the past and least it was cleared up to as why she did it and all the aplogies were said. Great job Mel! Mel Ive been away for a while... But its so sad that Alysaa had to be alone on her anniversary but I kinda think it might have been worse for Sean to be ther after what occured with Nick! It was really sweet of Nick to send her flowers and to spend that day with her so she wouldnt be alone, I know hes trying to be a good friend and be there for her but I think he doesnt wanna rule out the possibility of maybe getting a second chance together! I was right! Alyssa is pregnant but I still dont think it's Sean it has to be Nicks! Shes been trying for so long with Sean and she gets pregnant right after sleeping with Nick, it has to be Nicks baby! YAY! I was right, it is Nick baby! OMG this is going to bring major drama because Sean knows Alyssa is pregnant already so in order for him to find out the baby isnt his, he's going to have to know that Alyssa was unfaithful with Nick! Im glad the baby is healthy and no matter what happens Alysaa will have her baby and that makes it all better! That was really sweet of Nick to send Alyssa that gift for the baby, he keeps trying o prove to her that he wants to be there for her no matter what even if hes just her friend, I think maybe just because he thought he was going to be a dad with Shayla pregnant and that didnt follow through and now with Alyssa being pregnant, which was the only girl he ever considered having kids with, it might make him wonder what if he was the dad... Now Shayla drunk dialing him was a bit funny but I liked it because Nick being as weak as he is when it comes to getting some, didnt fall for her game, which is so DIFFERENT from the usual Nick... Maybe he's still hoping to have something with Alyssa eventually plus its not that easy to forgive Shayla for what she did to him! With that last line I have a feeling that Alyssa might be telling him the truth soon which Im glad if she does but at the same time Im kinda scared to see how Nick might react considering his past experience... OMG! That was a total meltdown from Alyssa which shouldnt surprise me since shes pregnant plus shes having to deal with all this drama about whether she should tell the truth about who the dad is...its a lot to handle plus Nick kissing her had to sent her over the edge...And now Nick knows he's the dad and he did the one thing I was afraid he would do, he ran without taking Alyssa feelings into consideration...
