Hello? It's me. Again. by mamogirl Rated: R [ - ]
Summary: Past Featured Story"Hello? It's me, Nick. Again. Please... don't be dead.

That was all left. That was all that he had. There had been no goodbyes or words full of pain and heartache. Or regret. Regret for what he had just lost and for all the things he would never have the chance to get. No more dreams.
All that was left was a voicemail. And words that Brian wouldn't be able to say out loud, face to face.

Oh yay, such a long read and it was so worth it. This story gets more mysterious as it goes on. I feel like I'm reading an X-File by now ;). I'm curious where it will end. For a second I thought maybe Kevin was writing the letters, but then when Brians mom said, Nick had given the letter to her... Mhhhh...

So I'm curious to what kind of house this key is for, where it is and what it's about. I love how Nick is so gentle and loving to Brian through this letter...

I'll still refuse to believe he is dead... it's a principle! He can't be :D

Author's Response: That's why I love so much about posting stories, reading the reader's theories and hypothesis. :) I think it would have a cruel joke if it was Kevin writing the letters. Can you imagine Brian's reaction finding out the truth? I don't think Kevin would have been alive. lol The house and what's about is the second part of this story. The idea of the whole story is inspired by the book "Ps I love you", where a man wrote twelve letters to his wife before dying of a brain cancer to help her move on and live again. It's not the same plot, it's a lot different from that, but I loved the idea of "taking care" even if Nick isn't there anymore. Thank you for reading and for your words. =)

A beautiful house, with a beautiful Brian inside. This story is moving calm like a river, and even tho I sometimes miss some action in it, I in the end feel, that the story is exactly what it should be.

The process of mourning is calm, it starts loud, then it become melancholy. And melancholy is not known for being dramatic, but rather numbing. And I think you are capturing this quite well.

I find it hard sometimes to write reviews, since I don't want to repeat myself and I have said so many things already. But what I can say is, that I love how your chapters are getting longer. And I also love the fact, that I have exactly know clue how this will go on.

Author's Response: I don't know if I said it before or not but it's wanted the fact that now the chapters are longer because it kinda shows how Brian is slowly going back to live after Nick's death. And... yeah, because I don't like writing small chapters. lol But yes, melancholy isn't dramatic, isn't something loud. It's a silent companion and, most of the time, not even a visible one. Thank you so much for your reviews!

And I apologize for commenting so late. I just simply didn't find the time for it until now.

As usual you are painting a beautiful picture in this story. It goes slow like a river always following its path in a steady pace. That speed gives this story a feeling of melancholy. Which is great, but also the biggest challenge. Steady slow pace means there isn't much movement and action.

That makes it challenging to keep the readers attention. You manage to do that by portraying the inner movement of Brian they way you do, lively and realistic. You can identify with what he is going through.

And even tho I am also waiting for the next stroy climax, I am willing to sit on the boat and enjoy the scenery, while the story takes me there.

Author's Response: It's okay, don't worry. =) Thank you for reading and commenting still. I don't know if I have already said that I love your reviews! There's not going to be so much action or movement in this story, after all it just paints how someone can try and, maybe, manage to get back on his feet after he loses something and someone so important in his life. It's life, after all, and most of the time it's just a little bit boring (well, at least my life is so boring lol). But there is going to be some climax, especially towards the end and we are not that far away from that. Hoope you'll still there for the ride! =)

Nice but short story. I like the way you wrote it, pretty realistic, that's how friendships go, someday they just stop. I never had a friendship that lasted... even if I thought somebody was my best friend. I love the way you portrayed the emotions too.

Too bad this has only one chapter I would have liked to continue reading it on the other hand tho the story in its shortness is good just the way it is.

Author's Response: Thanks! This one was only meant to be a one shot. I don't remember if I had written it as a challenge story or not. Yes! Sometimes good friendships just kind of fade away. It's sad but a part of life I guess. Glad you enjoyed it. :-)

Last Night Last by mamogirl Rated: R [ - ]
Summary:

There is a thin line between friendship and love, two feelings so similar yet so totally different.

Sometimes, that line is so impervious to even notice that it's exists and it's hard and difficult to pass it with a simple gesture.

But, on occasions so rare and precious, you find yourself on the other side without realizing and, when you do, it's impossible to go back to the start.

Brian was one of those fortunate to have found love in a friendship that had become bigger and deeper over years and years. A firendship that had passed, sometimes with some difficulty, every storm that had hit them.
Fall in love with his best friend was not a decision made consciously, when was love something rational and logical?
It was a natural process, almost as if it were already written in his heart that one day he would realized that his other half was always beside him, patiently waiting for a sign from him.
A special night will be the beginning of something very importanti and special or it will be only the end of a beautiful friendship?

xD I had to laugh at that fight... I could envision it. The type of girl Amanda seems to be in my mind... had a perfect picture.

I really laughed at the cooking bit too, since in my Sims 4 game.... where Nick and Brian live under one roof with AJ, Howie and Kevin... it's always Brian who is cooking the meals :D ... he's pretty good at it!

It also was so cute when the first person Nick thought about fleeing to after fighting was Brian. Of course it was to be expected but it's still cute :3

Author's Response: lol It was actually fun to write that fight. Maybe it really happened, who knows? lol Brian's cooking, one of the thousand reasons why I love this man. *__* Is there anything he can't do? Probably not, that's why Nick loves him so much. And yes, they're the cutest!

I love how we seem to have similar ideas about how at least Brians minds is working. It's so sweet to read this.

What I liked most about this chapter was Nick getting lost in Brians eyes, you wrote that perfectly. Can feel that attraction and tension. And I love it... it's buzzing in the air..

Why do I think the guys having keys and codes to Brians place will be of importance later in the story? :D well I'll read on curious how it will continue.

Author's Response: For the keys and codes, no, it won't be that important in the story. It was just a small detail. Sometimes I truly believe I'm the only one who gets how Brian's mind works. It's so great to find someone else too, at least I can stop thinking I'm weird or not normal. lol Thanks!

I wonder what time period that is written in? Since if I understood it right it was before Nicks first solo album?

All the feels in this story.... they are so much. You make them both seem so realistic... that Leighanne part in particular.

I'm suddenly hungry for lasagna tho ;)

Author's Response: I didn't have a particular time period in mind. It depends on the story and what I'm writing about. Thanks for the feels part. It's what I always try to convey 'cause I love all the psychologic stuff and let people see why the characters act in a certain way. Lasagna is the best! ;) Thanks again!

This was hot ! *thumbs up* So much passion in that scene between them two. How they were only controlled by instinct and emotions. Wild and sweet at the same time. You did an incredible job capturing those feelings in your words. And you did all that without getting into the Smut. And that is what I like.

I even like the curtain you put at the end of the scene, simply because of that... since you already put those raw emotions into words so well.

Kudos from me... You really have the talent to be a great author. Your stories are some of the best I read in all fandoms I've been part of.

Author's Response: *wipe away a tear* Thank you so much! <3 It's really a huge compliment and I'm really humbled by it. Not to mention that I'll be smiling all day thanks to you. *__* I don't like writing smut. I love reading it but writing... I simply can't. I love describing the emotions, the feels and the connection in that kind of scenes. I mean, sometimes I try to do it but then... lol, it always end up with something more spiritual and full of emotions instead than pure smut. lol Glad that you like it this way. =)

too bad this didn't continue :(

Author's Response: It feels weird to get a notification for a review! Thank you! I'm bad and I know. ;( I could use alibi but there aren't. I can only say, in my defense, that for awhile I struggled to keep translating something that no one cared for (as in Brian/Nick slash) so I just kept writing in my own language. But I can say that this story is complete so, if you're interested, I can try to translate it. :) Again, thank you. You don't know what it means. :)

Well if your native language is german you could link me to it... but yeah I would really like to continue reading it.... I just recently came back to the BSB fandom and its the first time I'm reading fics... and I love Frick & Frack Slash or not :)

Author's Response: Sadly, I'm Italian so all my stories are in Italian. :) I'll try my best, translating is a long process and I use to write long chapters. lol BSB slash is the only fandom where I write, it's actually thank to Frick and Frack that I've came back writing after years of block. And I'm a Brian's girl, so it's hard to find stories to read. Don't know why but I always end up loving pairing and characters that almost no one writes. lol Thank you! ^__^

Frick and Frack is the best after all :)... I will definitly be following your story :) I mostly have only time on the weekend to read and/or comment tho :) but I will be following... :P I'm writing Brian/Nick I also read that 100+ chapter long stories I found on somebodies blog page about this pairing :O.... but it feels to me like in the BSB community there generally are more Own Character Pairings than Slash Romance... sadly. You got tumblr or twitter maybe?

So I already wanted to write my review in the morning, but then noticed that I wasn't logged in on my smartphone and didn't have the password with me *facepalm*.

So I love this chapter particulary the part where you describe the tension that is still between all of them. Things probably will never be the same again, that is what I agree on with Howie.

I'm also curious for how Brian will react to seeing Nick, after he has not been to the hospital to check on him at all. I bet he is hurt, but I will see what you write :) I'll definitly be reading again.

Oh thank you again for writing this. I really loved this chapter. It seems to me like the whole group is breaking apart, because of what happened. I like that subplot and I can understand the trauma, which that event can cause in anyone of them.

I mean one point I have forgotten to bring up: giving Brian alcohol back then only made hypothermia more likely. We learned that in biology, how alcohol is exactly the wrong thing in the cold, it makes you feel warm, but it widens your veins and makes it easier for you to freeze. ANd Brian most definitly did there.

I like the tragedy of this situation, there is nothing anyone of them can really do but exactly do wait. I still think no matter if Brian dies or not, it will be really intresting to see how this story continues from now on.

Once again I enjoy AJ, because I think you got his emotions spot on. What he is thinking only seems realistic and I like that so much.

Very well written :), please keep writing too :)

Author's Response: Yep, I learnt that in biology too :) I think they boys were just looking for a thing to relieve pain, not knowing (or remembering) that it could backfire entirely this way. also, thanks for the review!
